UPDATE 6:38 a.m.: North Road being shut down so the vehicles can be moved.

Tractor-trailer jackknifed on Clinton Street Road

A tractor-trailer has jackknifed on Clinton Street Road and hit a utility pole. A second vehicle may be involved. 

The road is blocked. Power is out in the area.

All occupants are out of the vehicles.

The accident is reported in the area of 5106 Clinton Street Road, near Stringham Drive.

Town of Batavia fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 9:41 p.m. (back from the scene): An eastbound tractor-trailer that was fully loaded lost traction on a snowy road and jackknifed. A red pickup truck that was also eastbound became wedged under the trailer. The passenger side of the cab was completely crushed. Fortunately, there was no passenger. The driver had a cut on his hand and a complaint of arm pain. There's no suitable tow trucks available in Genesee County, so trucks are coming from Monroe County. A National Grid crew is also needed to replace the utility pole before the truck can be moved. Route 33 will likely be closed for some time yet.

Two-car accident with minor injuries on westbound Thruway, Le Roy responding

A two-car accident is reported at mile marker 381.5 on the westbound Thruway. A person is complaining of some neck and head pain. Le Roy fire and ambulance are responding and are told to use caution upon approach because several vehicles are off the roadway in the area. One engine from Stafford is asked to stand by in Le Roy's fire hall.

A accident is reported in the area of 7402 Clinton Street Road, near Lyman Road, Bergen.

Unknown injuries.

Traffic is blocked.

Truck and car accident reported in Village of Le Roy, minor injuries

A car has reportedly become stuck under a truck at West Main Street and Clay Street, Village of Le Roy.

Minor injuries are reported.

Le Roy fire and ambulance dispatched.

UPDATE 9:41 a.m.: The patient was a sign-off.

UPDATE 9:55 a.m.: The Le Roy assignment is back in service.

Car vs. tractor-trailer crash at Route 20 and Alleghany Road

A car vs. tractor-trailer accident is reported at the intersection of Route 20 and Alleghany Road. Unknown injuries, but it is believed the car is pinned underneath the tractor-trailer. Darien Fire Department and medics are responding. Mercy Flight in Buffalo is on a ground standby.

UPDATE 4:43 p.m.: Injuries are reported to be minor.

Car wreck with injuries in West Main Street Road, Batavia

A wreck involving at least two vehicles is reported at 3238 W. Main Street Road in the Town of Batavia. The location is just west of Wortendyke Road. Law enforcement on scene requested two ambulances. East Pembroke fire and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 6:07 p.m.: One person was taken to UMMC. East Pembroke is back in service.

Car strikes pole on Vine Street, Batavia

A vehicle has struck a pole in the area of 112 Vine St., Batavia.

A minor head injury is reported.

Female driver unresponsive after car accident on eastbound Thruway

A one-car accident is reported on the eastbound Thruway at mile marker 386.3. The car is off the roadway and the female driver is injured and unresponsive, according to the caller to dispatch. Town of Batavia and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 3:40 p.m.: The male patient is being transported to the hospital via ambulance and CPR is in progress.

Two-car crash at Bank and Washington in the city

A two-car accident is reported at 148 Bank St. by Washington Avenue. The drive of one vehicle is complaining of back pain. City fire and Mercy medics are responding.

Victim of fatal crash identified

The woman who died in an accident on Meadville Road yesterday has been identified as Nituna L. Stafford, 40, of Basom.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by County Coroner Barry Miller.

The other person in the vehicle was Eli M. Smoke, 26, of Alabama. Smoke was injured and treated at ECMC for leg and chest pain.

State police say the vehicle they were in failed to stop at the end of Meadville Road and struck and continued through concrete barriers before stopping.

Stafford was the driver.

The investigation is ongoing, but is not considered a weather-related event.

Fatal accident on Meadville Road overnight under investigation

A person died in an accident that occurred on Meadville Road, Alabama, some time over night.

The circumstances of the accident remain under investigation, but neither the accident nor the death were weather related, according to Victor Morales, public information officer for Troop A, State Police.

The name of the deceased has not been released yet, pending family notifications.

Another person was injured. There's no information available yet on that person or the person's condition.

The accident was reported at about 6:30 a.m. in the area of 6686 Meadville Road.

Alabama fire responded to the scene.

A first responder reported the person was deceased when he arrived on scene.

Car well off roadway, possible injuries, on eastbound Route 490

One vehicle is reported to be way off the road and there may be injuries in the area of mile marker 2.8 Route 490 eastbound. Le Roy fire and Mercy medics are on scene. The location is between the Le Roy and Bergen exits. Law enforcement is also on scene.
