Session Two: Call-To-Action for the Little Free Pantry to help finish planting community garden for Summer outreach projects

Call-To-Action: The Little Free Pantry is looking for people to lend a hand to finish planting the community garden at Ryan’s Rose Organic Farm, and to visit our by-donation Plant Sale to help fund our Spring outreach projects.

The harvest will be used to supply the Pantry with farm-to-pantry produce all summer long.

Special thanks to the volunteers who helped plant last week, a lot got accomplished. We still have some things that need to get into the soil at the Farm.

Old Hippies livestreaming Home to Home Concert for the Common Good #60, then they're 'goin' fishin' ' for awhile, pausing concert series

GONE FISHIN'! Kay and I have come to a difficult decision to pause our Home to Home Concert Series for the Common Good livestream after this evening's show -- #60 in a row -- May 22 at 7 p.m.

FREE admission -- Spring artisan, crafter and gift marketplace at Batavia Downs to benefit Breast Cancer Coalition

"Wonderful Welcome" -- a Spring arstisan, crafter and gift marketplace with free admission -- will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 23 at Batavia Downs Gaming & Hotel.

Proceeds benefit the Breast Cancer Coalition.

More than 100 displays of handmade treasures and top-notch gifts will be on available for browsing.

The Downs is located at 8315 Park Road in Batavia.

American Warrior Cigar Night with live acoustic music at Major Stash

It's American Warrior Cigar Night at Major Stash Cigar in Batavia on Friday, June 4.

This veteran-owned premier cigar and tobacco shop and smoking lounge will host a free acoustic music night with performers The Remediators and Joel Russlett.

Time is 5 to 9 p.m. Address is 60 Liberty St. (Major Stash is located behind the Pok-A-Dot.)

Cornell extension holds Board of Directors meeting: in person and via Zoom

The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Genesee County Board of Directors meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on May 25. 

The meeting will be held in person at the Extension at 420 E. Main St. in Batavia and is open to the public.

Elba Betterment Committee holds BBQ June 13 to fund summer concerts, deadline to buy tickets is June 1

The Elba Betterment Committee will hold a chicken BBQ at the Village Park on Sunday, June 13 to earn money for a trio of concerts this summer at the park.

Tickets for the chicken BBQ are $12 and limited in number. Some will be sold the day of the BBQ, but the bulk must be ordered by June 1.

PRESALE: Spring Basket Raffle fundraiser for Crossroads House -- at the Arc Community Center

The Annual Spring Basket Raffle fundraiser for Crossroads House will take place on Saturday, June 5th from 12 to 4 p.m. A presale will be Friday, June 4th from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

This event will be hosted at the Arc Community Center, 38 Woodrow Road, behind Notre Dame High School in Batavia.

There will be more than 100 baskets! In addition, we will have mega raffle prizes which are valued at $100 or more.

Masks will be required, and social distancing maintained.
