Person flees scene of rollover accident on Reservation

There is a rollover accident on Council House Road on the Tonawanda Indian Reservation.

There was initially a report of a serious injury and Mercy Flight was being dispatched.

There is also a report that a person has fled from the scene.

Alabama Fire and Mercy EMS are responding.

UPDATE: A first responder says there is nobody in the vehicle.

Motorcycle hits deer on West Main Street, Batavia, two injured

A motorcycle has hit a deer in the area of 4003 W. Main St. Road, Batavia.

Two people are reported unconscious.

Mercy EMS and Town of Batavia Fire responding. Mercy Flight is on stand by.

UPDATE 3:00 p.m.: Two Mercy Flight helicopters requested to the scene.

UPDATE 4:37 p.m.: No official word yet on the investigation. Two people were transported by Mercy Flight, and at least one of those helicopters went to Strong Memorial Hospital. An officer said it didn't look like either rider was wearing a state-approved safety helmet (though they were wearing helmets). The injured deer was put down after the accident. More information when it becomes available.

UPDATE: The driver and passenger have been identified: Driver, David L. Patrick, 63, of 21 Birchwood Acres, Perry. Passenger, Nancy L. Patrick, 58. The driver was taken to ECMC and the passenger to Strong. The accident investigation revealed that the deer entered road from the southern shoulder and ran into Nancy, causing David to lose control of the bike.

UPDATE: Both people were taken to Strong. Both are listed in guarded condition. At Strong, "guarded" means the patient is in the intensive care unit.

Injury accident on Ford Road, Elba

At least one person was injured in this single-car rollover accident on Ford Road (Route 262) in Elba.

The accident occurred around 7:30 a.m.

The driver, from Buffalo, reportedly told investigators that he was checking his GPS at the time of the accident.

No further details available at this time. This post will be updated when we receive the accident report from the Sheriff's Office.

UPDATE: The driver has been identified as Steven J. Scott, 19, of Ford Road, Elba. He was taken by ground ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital. He was cited for alleged unsafe moving from lane of travel.

Car accident with injuries reported in Darien

A motor-vehicle accident with injuries is reported in Darien in the vicinity of (Route 77) Allegany and McVean roads. An ambulance is requested, and State Police ask for a nonemergency response. Darien fire and a medic are responding.

Accident in Darien sends one person to the hospital

One person was taken to a hospital following an overnight accident on Route 77 near Reynolds Road in Darien.

One of the drivers, Bennett L. Goldstein, 19, of 257 Pennsylvania St., Buffalo, was cited for allegedly following too close, which Deputy Kevin McCarthy says is what caused the accident.

Transported to UMMC was Clayton B. Hoyt, 18, a passenger in Goldstein's 2003 Dodge SUV.

Also reportedly injured, but not transported, was Courtney A. Anthony, 21, of 216 Hampton Road, Syracuse. Anthony was the driver of the second vehicle.

The accident was reported shortly after midnight.

Vehicle rollover on Thruway in Pembroke area

A car has rolled over on the Thruway in the area of mile marker 403.3, eastbound.

Pembroke and Indian Falls and Mercy EMS dispatched.

A caller saw a vehicle on the shoulder on its roof.

Unknown injuries.

UPDATE 10:27 p.m.: First responders are not finding any signs of an accident.

UPDATE 10:29 p.m.: There is a trailer parked off the side of the Thruway and responders are thinking that the caller may have mistaken it for a rollover. Emergency responders being put back in service.

Car and motorcycle accident reported on Route 98

There are reportedly only minor injuries following a car and motorcycle accident on Route 98 at West Saile Drive, Batavia.

Town of Batavia Fire is responding along with Mercy EMS.

Fall from ladder reported in Le Roy

A man has fallen from a 15-foot ladder at 29 Lincoln Ave., Le Roy.

He is conscious. The only reported injury is "some bleeding."

Le Roy Ambulance is being dispatched.

Fender-bender in front of City Church

A fender-bender with minor injuries is reported in front of City Church on Main Street in Downtown Batavia.

The roadway was blocked temporarily. City fire responded and an ambulance, non-emergency response.

UPDATE 5:09 p.m. (by Howard): It was a minor accident, but there was an arrest following it. I'll post pictures in a separate post shortly.

One-car accident knocks out power in Bethany and Le Roy

As many as 620 National Grid customers were without power last night following two separate accidents on the same road involving the same vehicle.

Two utility poles were knocked down.

The reported driver, Charles H. Colf Jr., 64, of 6774 Westcott Road, Stafford, suffered head and chest injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to UMMC.

He received three citations, including two for alleged speeding and one for leaving the scene of an accident.

The first accident occurred at 7:47 p.m in the area of 6836 East Bethany-Le Roy Townline Road.

Colf reportedly drove his 2007 Hyundai sedan into a ditch and then out back onto the roadway. A witness reported this incident to Sheriff's dispatch.

At 7:49 p.m, the second accident was called in. Colf's car reportedly hit a utility pole in the area of 7098 East Bethany-Le Roy Townline Road, knocking it down. When that pole fell, it pulled down another pole.

One of the poles had a transformer on it.

Power outages were reported in Bethany and the Village of Le Roy.

No other vehicles were involved in the accidents.

The accidents were investigated by Deputy Frank Bordonaro, Deputy Matthew Butler and Sgt. Thomas Sanfratello.

Car hits multiple poles in Le Roy

A car has multiple utility poles, one apparently an electric pole, in the area of 7101 East Bethany-Le Roy Road.

The driver suffered a head injury, but is conscious and is out of the car.

Minutes earlier, a Cadillac was reported on the same road swerving onto the shoulder and then re-entering the roadway.

Le Roy Fire is responding, along with EMS.

Fire Police are shutting down the road.

UPDATE 8:19 p.m.: The driver apparently suffered a medical problem while driving.

UPDATE 9:01 p.m.: At one point, the stoplight in front of Tops was out, reportedly because of the accident. A little while ago, somebody reported power restored at Le Roy Village Greens. National Grid was still reporting 620 customers without power. The accident scene was cleared by Le Roy Fire 10 or 15 minutes ago.

Car hits pole and tree on South Lake Road, Corfu

A car has hit a utility pole and a tree in the area of 8993 South Lake Road, Corfu.

The pole and wires are down.

At least one injury reported.

Pembroke and Indian Falls Fire and Mercy EMS are responding.

UPDATE 5:19 p.m.: Mercy Flight being dispatched.

UPDATE 5:21 p.m.: Corfu Fire being dispatched to shut down traffic at Lake and Cohocton and set up a possible landing zone on Cohocton.

UPDATE 5:34 p.m.: Victim extricated.

UPDATE 5:36 p.m.: Mercy Flight has landed.

UPDATE 5:50 p.m.: Mercy Flight is airborne.

UPDATE, Monday, 10 a.m.: The driver has been identified as Edward J. Siminski, 83, of North Lake Road, Corfu. Siminski reportedly fell asleep while driving.

Two ambulances requested to accident on Ellicott Street Road

A two-car accident with injuries has been reported at the intersection of Ellicott Street Road and Shepard Road, Batavia.

Two ambulances have been requested to the scene.

One woman reportedly has her leg trapped.

Town of Batavia Fire is also responding.

UPDATE 1:55 p.m.: Report now, woman trapped only by a door. Her body is not entrapped. City PD being dispatched to close Route 63 at Cedar Street.

UPDATE 2:16 p.m.: Southbound Route 63 is now open.
