A man driving a Ford van lost control of it while on North Byron Road, Elba, this morning, causing it to go into a ditch and overturn.

The driver, Elmer Perez-Garcia, 17, of Morristown, Tenn., suffered only minor injuries in the accident and did not require hospital treatment.

Perez-Garcia was cited for alleged failure to maintain lane and driving without a license.

A witness told Deputy Chris Parker that he saw Perez-Garcia's van cross into the eastbound lane and the driver appeared to be "doing something" inside the van prior to losing control.

An accident has been reported at the intersection of Jackson and Ellicott streets.

A victim reportedly has glass in his eye.

City Fire Department and Mercy EMS responding.

A car has reportedly struck a pole in the area of 309 S. Jackson St., Batavia.

Unknown injuries.

Wires are down on the road.

UPDATE 2:19 a.m.: The driver reportedly fled the scene. The only description is he was wearing a sweatshirt.  He ran east on South Jackson.

UPDATE 3:26 a.m.: The alleged driver returned to the scene. He immediately started picking up his sporting equipment strewn in the road until a police officer came over and began an interview with him. The driver said he left the scene because he panicked. He said he didn't think he was going that fast, "but obviously I was." Adding, "my car is totaled." After a brief chat with police officers, he was examined by Mercy medics. He complained of back pain. He was transported by private vehicle to UMMC where he will be questioned further.  National Grid arrived on scene just before 3 a.m. City firefighters cleared the scene at 3:20 a.m. The pole replacement work is expected to take several hours. The identity of the driver has not been released yet.

A 6-year-old on a bike suffered minor injuries Sunday morning after striking a car pulling out of a parking lot on Main Street in Oakfield.

The child's injuries were minor enough that he was not transported to a hospital.

Hurt was Chase B. Guzdek, of Irving Parkway, Oakfield.

Chase was riding southbound on a sidewalk on Main Street at 10:21 a.m. when a car driven by Deanna S. Keenan, 49, of Fisher Road, Oakfield, was pulling out of a parking lot. Keenan looked past buildings to initiate a left turn.

Chase could not stop in time to avoid the car due to his speed, Deputy Chris Parker wrote in his report.

No citations were issued.

A car has hit a pole in the area of 6123 Main Road, Stafford.

No injuries are reported, but there are apparently wires down in the road. Stafford Fire Police requested to the scene for traffic control.

UPDATE 10:29 p.m.:  The lines hanging low over Route 5 are power lines. National Grid has been notified. No traffic can go through.

UPDATE 11:05 p.m.: National Grid has a 15-minute ETA.

A pedestrian appears to not be seriously injured after being hit by a car outside the M&T Bank, 54 Main St., Oakfield.

The victim is conscious and alert and walking.

Oakfield fire and ambulance dispatched.

UPDATE 10:29 a.m.: Units responding non-emergency mode. Confirmed, minor injuries.

UPDATE 10:31 a.m.: Mercy Medic 2 put back in service. Victim will be transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

The driver of this Ford pickup truck walked away from this accident with hardly a scratch.

According to a State Trooper on scene, the driver was eastbound on Ford Road in Elba when he apparently fell asleep. He woke up, the trooper said, and over corrected, sending the truck into a ditch on the south side of the road.

Elba Fire Department and Mercy EMS responded to the scene. The call came in shortly after 9:30 a.m.

No further details available at this time.

An accident with at least one person injured has been reported at routes 98 and 262, Elba.

A pickup truck attempting to make a left turn from Route 20 onto Route 63 was struck head-on by a semi-truck heading southeast on Route 20 last night.

The 8:20 p.m. accident sent a woman to the hospital.

Pavilion Fire Department responded to the scene at 8:50 p.m. and extricated the female driver from the pickup truck. She complained of feeling dizzy and said she might have blacked out.

Brenda D. Baker, 48, of Nunda, was transported by Mercy EMS to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Baker was driving a 1997 Ford pickup.

Her truck was struck by a semi owned by Pavilion Drainage and being driven by Nathaniel D. Coral, 35, of Dodson Road, Wyoming.

The accident report does not list any citations.

The accident was investigated by Deputy Matthew Butler.

An accident has been reported at West Main and Oak streets.

A mother is reporting that she and her 3-year-old may have hit their heads on airbags.

The cars have been moved to the parking lot of Oliver's Candies.

Batavia Fire Department and Mercy EMS are requested to the scene by Batavia PD, non-emergency.

A car and pickup truck have crashed at 5270 Main Road in Stafford, near the Seven Springs Road intersection. Injuries are reported. Stafford fire and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 10:58 a.m.: The roadway is almost completely blocked. The truck was towing heavy machinery, which will need to be lifted. A tow-truck company is called to assist. Fluids are leaking. A Sheriff's deputy is on scene along with a medic.

UPDATE 11:03: "Everything is intact but the truck is kind of sitting on the car," says a responder at the scene.

UPDATE 11:11 a.m.: The tow-truck driver is not injured. The occupants of the car will need medical attention and will be transported via ambulance.

One car is off the road and has hit a pole in the area of 8285 Alleghany Road, Indian Falls.

The driver is out of the car and on his feet, but has a head injury and other cuts.

There's a truck vs. pickup truck accident in Pavilion. We don't have the exact location at the moment.

A person in the pickup truck will need to be extricated, but she is conscious and alert.

A car reportedly hit a bicyclist in the area of 232 Vine St., Batavia, but the rider is "up and around" and complaining only of an arm injury.

A two-car accident is reported in Elba at the intersection of Ford Road and Old Ford Road. One vehicle rolled over. Elba Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding. Injuries are believed to be minor. One vehicle is blocking traffic. Two flatbed tow trucks are requested.

UPDATE 2:16: Mercy Flight is responding to the scene.

UPDATE 2:21 p.m.: Mercy Flight has landed.

UPDATE 2:28 p.m.: Mercy Flight is airborne with a patient and heading to Strong Memorial Hospital.

UPDATE 2:35 p.m.: Mercy medics are transporting one patient via ambulance to Strong.

An accident is reported on the eastbound Thruway at mile marker 384.9. The driver of one vehicle was unconscious but is now alert. Mercy Flight is called. Le Roy Fire and Ambulance Service are responding.

UPDATE 11:55 p.m.: The mile marker is actually 384.8 on the eastbound Thruway. State Police are on scene. Mercy Flight is on location.

UPDATE 12:09 p.m.: Mercy Flight will not be used and the helicopter is heading back to its base in Batavia.

UPDATE 12:15 p.m.: Le Roy fire units are back in service.

UPDATE 12:39 p.m.: Le Roy medics transported a patient to Strong Memorial Hospital.

A two-car accident with a minor injury is reported at Park Road and Veterans Memorial Drive. It is not blocking traffic. Mercy medics are responding, non-emergency mode. One person is complaining of back pain.

UPDATE 12:38 p.m.: Town of Batavia Fire Department also responded to the scene and is now back in service.

UPDATE 12:45 p.m.: One woman with a history of back problems is transported to UMMC via ambulance.

A driver is accused of running a red light at the intersection of Seven Springs Road and Clinton Street Road at 5:07 p.m., Wednesday, causing a two-car accident that sent three people to the hospital.

Cited for allegedly failure to stop for the red light was Jonathan C. Pestillo, 17, of Seven Springs Road, Batavia. Pestillo was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital minor injuries.

The other driver, Bonnie M. Behage, 70, of Ellenton, Fla., and her passenger, Jenna M. Aradine, 22, were also transported to Strong with minor injuries.

Pestillo was driving a 2005 Chevy SUV and Behage was driving a 2010 Hyundai SUV.

The accident was investigated by Deputy Kevin McCarthy.

A two-car accident with injuries is reported at Clinton Street Road and Batavia Stafford Town Line Road. Mercy medics and Town of Batavia Fire Department are responding.

UPDATE 5:14 p.m.: A second ambulance is requested.

UPDATE 5:20 p.m.: A third ambulance is called in.

UPDATE 5:42 p.m.: All three ambulances are transporting patients to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.
