Girls in bathrobes splashing in mud prompts 9-1-1 call
By Billie Owens
City police are responding to Bank Street for a report of shoeless juvenile females wearing bathrobes jumping in mud puddles in front of a residence unsupervised. No word on if they're giggling.
Wow... that's some pretty scary stuff right there and it's a good thing somebody was on the ball and called 9-1-1 when they witnessed this hideous crime in progress!
I do hope the police were very cautious and had the SWAT vehicle go in first, please keep us updated on any casualties Billie!
Ed,I don't see a problem, I was being facetious. The way it reads tells me the girls had no immediate supervision at the puddle, the article states they were jumping in mudpuddles in front of a residence, unsupervised. If you put a comma after residence, it would be much clearer. In your inference, the article would have to state,an unsupervised residence, and clearly, that is not what it says.So I stand by my comment, the problem is no life busy bodies.
This keeps making me think of Goober & Barney in the "Citizen's arrest... Citizen's arrest" episode. That's one of my favorite episodes and can only be topped by Aunt Bee getting tanked and yelling "wheeeee" when she spins around on the piano stool.
Geez! I'm (almost - but, not really) a bit skittish about posting a comment correcting someone (but, in your defense, you can always claim you were being facetious - sometimes, that works).
Hence, this one. Goober was far too sophisticated to run around crying, "Citizens arrest! Citizens arrest!" That infamous line was one of Gomer's shining moments.
Yeah Ed, I realized I quoted the wrong Pyle after I submitted but since I'm not one of Howard's retirement fund supporters I don't have the privilege of editing.
I didn't bother posting again to correct the error... I was fairly confident you'd take care of it.

Not sure, but, the way it reads, I'd say the problem was the residence was unsupervised.
