Ed,I don't see a problem, I was being facetious.The way it reads tells me the girls had no immediate supervision at the puddle, the article states they were jumping in mudpuddles in front of a residence,unsupervised.If you put a comma after residence, it would be much clearer.In your inference,the article would have to state,an unsupervised residence,and clearly,that is not what it says.So I stand by my comment,the problem is no life busy bodies.

Geez! I'm (almost - but, not really) a bit skittish about posting a comment correcting someone (but, in your defense, you can always claim you were being facetious - sometimes, that works).
