Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) today recognized Vietnam Veterans Day (March 29) by passing an official Assembly Resolution in Albany honoring the event.

Hawley, a veteran, son of a veteran and member of the Assembly Veterans’ Affairs Committee, offered his gratitude and best wishes to New York’s veterans of the Vietnam War and urged constituents to thank a family member or friend who served in Vietnam.

“Vietnam was one of the longest and most violent conflicts in American history with many brave young men, not long out of high school, answering the call of duty for their nation,” Hawley said.

“The campaign to defeat communism and the forces of evil claimed countless brave souls but today is dedicated to honoring their sacrifices and thanking those still with us for their commitment to their nation and its people.”

Below, Hawley poses with a veteran who served as a nurse during the Vietnam War in front of the Vietnam Nurses’ Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Thank you for your service to our Country, Steve, and your service to our Veterans, and our State.

Tom, bone spurs is a medical condition. It may result from a mental condition called "Trump Russian Collusion Delusion," Bone spurs is what you get from jumping up and down, in lock-step with others, non-stop, for 674 days, while shouting treason, or other unproven accusations, and calling for impeachment.

Ahhhj - love hearing that "Trump Delusion Syndrome" (or variant thereof) from folks who spent 8 years claiming President Obama was not a US citizen, or that he was Muslim (even more ironic as the Bible Thumpers love the pussy-grabbing con-man Trump who slept around on ALL of his wives, yet hated the church-going Christian and faithful Obama), and who screamed BENGHAZI BENGHAZI BENGHAZI for years.

Sad.... so sad...

I still haven't heard from hawley if he was present at the Kent state massacre while his fellow Ohio national gardsmen were murdering and maiming unarmed protesters. Also, as I've mentioned before, many children of politicians, like hawley, entered the national guard in order to avoid Vietnam. I wouldn't think of disparaging soldiers and sailors from that war unless they were involved with the wanton massacre of civilians because having lived in the era, I know just how beguiling and confusing it all was. But as the motto cited Thomas lets not only commemorate, lets educate and heal.
Vietnam, after having defeated our efforts to impose our "superiorness" upon them, is doing quite well now. A glaring testimony to that reality is the fact that they are free to travel the world, and there is no exodus. Life expectancy in Vietnam is a couple years less than the US, bit theirs is rising rapidly while ours is actually declining.
We should also learn about the atrocities perpetrated by our military, and the list is long. Here's a little taste:

This doesn't mention napalm or agent orange. Two of the most grisly ways we killed. It does go into the insane numbers of civilian deaths/casualties. Learn and heal.

It was your democrat policies that fueled the War in Viet Nam. Idiots like LBJ & McNamara kept pouring fuel on the fire. My Buddy survived Hill 875, the worst combat of the war. C Company 2nd Batt. 503rd PIR took that hill. They lost 90% of their guys. Then gave the hill back to Charlie. Makes no sense. Soldiers do not make policy, they follow orders. "They Marched Into Sunlight" (David Maraniss) sheds some light on the subject from all sides. Major Don Holleder. His last Run. Dow Chemical`s recruiting policies. And the Protesters @ Madison Wisconsin. Read this book, then let me know if you still wish to piss on our `Nam Vets.

. We should have taken notes from Diem Ban Pho. The French suffered high casualties. We should have helped Ho Chi Min in the late 40`s when he was begging us for help. His pleas never reached The Halls of Congress. Kennedy still had the Bay of Pigs dripping off his chin. Some advisors from Ft. Bragg, then the Tonkin Gulf Resolution. LBJ is perplexed, Dow Chemical is bursting at the seams with Napalm and Agent Orange. We got teenagers swimming in it, thousands of miles away. Upon McNamara`s advise, LBJ sent over 400,000 to Viet Nam. At least Nixon bombed them to the table. Very sad times. Dan, the Veteran`s Administration gives medical needs, not the Military,, unless they triage. Don`t You EVER BAD MOUTH OUR VETERANS AROUND ME!!

Well it's time people figured it out Tom. If you read my first post you'd see that I said that I wouldn't disparage them. That doesn't make what they did alright. And frankly, I say what I want, when I want, and where I want. From what I've read, Kennedy had already ordered a number of the small group of advisors out of Nam under a plan to get out totally. Also, a number of Navy seals are currently being prosecuted for murder for the cold blooded murder of a prisoner. And another for not blowing him in for it.
Don't ever imply a threat toward me. I'll be more than happy to talk it out in person. GET ME?
