After losing the opening set, Oakfield-Alabama went on a streak in Volleyball on Friday to knock off Akron four sets to one.

Pembroke beat Newfane in Girls Volleyball on Thursday in three sets, 25-15, 25-17, 25-21.
Senior Reagan Schneider had 11 kills, nine aces and three digs. Juliana Cleveland dished out 16 assists and three aces. Taylor Bischoff had six kills and two aces, while Journie Saddler added seven digs.
For Newfane, Kimberly Schmitt served up three aces and two kills. Julia Leibring added two kills and one ace.
The Alexander Trojans lost the Far West Regional in Girls Volleyball on Saturday to Chautauqua Lake, three sets to one.

The two Section V Class D champions in Girls Volleyball met on Tuesday in a crossover game to determine who advances in the postseason, and Alexander beat Elba three matches to zero.

The Elba Lancers entered the Section V Class D2 volleyball tournament as the #3 seed and ends it as champions.
On Friday, the Lancers beat #1 seed Avoca-Prattsburgh 3-1 at Wayland-Cohocton.

Elba has a shot at a sectional title in volleyball after the Lancers beat Houghton Academy three sets to zero.

The Lancers will play for the Section V D2 crown at 5 p.m. on Friday at Wayland Cohocton. The match will pit the #6 Lancers against the #1 ranked Avoca-Prattsburgh.
At 7 p.m. on Friday at Wayland Cohocton, in Class D1, #1 seed Alexander players #6 York. Alexander beat Bolivar-Richburg 3-1 on Tuesday.
In Class C1, #2 Le Roy plays #1 Attica at Avon on Friday at 7 p.m. for the title.
For the second year on Tuesday, Batavia High School's volleyball teams, varsity and JV, hosted a "pink game" to raise money in support of Genesee Cancer Assistance.
The teams raised $2,200.

Nick Grasso graciously accepted this donation on behalf of Genesee Cancer Assistance. He reminded all spectators of how important it is to help out locally whenever possible. He reminded the spectators how expensive travel, treatment and other things people battling this disease need on a daily basis and how grateful our local recipients are to have events like this in their honor.

Notre Dame took a five-set match from Oakfield-Alabama in Girls Volleyball on Monday.

Pavilion, Notre Dame, and Le Roy are all Section champions, having won their respective finals matches in Girls Volleyball.
Pavilion beat Cuba-Rushford three games to one for the Class D2 crown, and Notre Dame beat Charles Finney three games to two to win in Class D3.
The Class D wins sets up a consolidation game between Pavilion and Notre Dame on Tuesday at a location to be determined.
Le Roy beat East Rochester three games to two for the C2 championship. Le Roy will play Midlakes in a Class C consolidation game on Tuesday, location to be determined.
Eighth-seed Batavia played first-seed School of the Arts Friday in Rochester for a Section V quarterfinal matchup.
Batavia dominated the game-winning three straight sets 25-12, 25-10, 25-17.

Batavia advances to the semifinal round this Tuesday at Mercy in Rochester against third-seed Waterloo. Game time 5 p.m.

The Batavia High School volleyball team held their first "pink game" this season, raising $1,100 for Genesee Cancer Assistance.
"We just wanted to do this because it's something that stays in Genesee County, and it's really good to just have the money stay here and benefit our community," said team captain Olivia Shell.
Head Coach James Patric said he expects pink games to become annual events to benefit Genesee Cancer Assistance. There will be more advance planning next season, he said, with a goal of raising $3,000 to $3,500.
"It's amazing to have them want to reach out and do this for us," said Nickie Fazio. "This money is going to be so beneficial to our patients. We're just very grateful. And if they want to do this next year, we're more than happy to help them."
The Batavia Blue Devils girls volleyball team beat Eastridge for the second time this season Tuesday evening, with scores of 25-11, 25-22, 25-23.
Olivia Shell led the Devils with nine kills, seven digs, and four aces.
Ella Bromsted had two kills, 18 assists, and three aces.
Clara Wood had two kills, six digs, and two aces.
Emma Bigsby had four kills, four digs and two aces.
Ava Anderson had six kills, seven digs and four aces.
"This team has taken the necessary steps to improve overall as a program and has been competitive all year," said Coach James Patric. "Our seniors and returning players set the goals for the team at the start of the season to compete for a Class B sectional championship. We have been playing well in our recent games and have been peaking at the right time heading into sectionals.
The Blue Devils play their final regular season game tonight at home against HFL. Game time is 6:30 p.m. The game includes a first-ever teacher appreciation night.

Elba beat Marion in five sets yesterday at Elba in the Class D Girls Volleyball Sectional Quarter file.
Elba won the second, fourth, and fifth sets, 25-16, 27-25, and 25-10. They lost sets by scores of 25-20 and 25-21.
Laci Sewar had six aces, six kills, and 16 digs. Carolyn Sybertz, six aces, four kills, and seven digs. Rachel Walls, eight kills and five digs. Sydney Reilly, 35 digs and two aces. Alexandra Belluscio, five kills, and two blocks. Kennedy Augello, 19 assists.
