New York gubernatorial candidate Larry Sharpe (L), will meet with citizens of Batavia to share a Sunday afternoon of music and fun on July 22.
Joining Larry will be Lieutenant Governor Candidate Andrew Hollister and Mark Glogowski, who is running for the 139th District NY Assembly seat. Music will be provided by the Old Hippies.
The 48th Annual Genesee County 4-H Market Animal Auction will be held Thursday, July 19, at the Genesee County Fair.
The auction begins at 7 p.m. in the main show ring.
New this year, 4-H members will be selling market chickens and dairy steers.
The auction will feature approximately 28 lots of market chickens, 10 goats, 19 lambs, 29 beef steers, two dairy steers and 44 hogs.
There will be a complementary buyers' dinner beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds, located at 5031 E. Main St., Batavia.
The GLOW Corporate Cup -- a 5K team race to benefit the Genesee, Livingston, Orleans, and Wyoming (GLOW) YMCA.
It starts at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, in Centennial Park, Batavia, located at 151 State St.
The goal of this event is for local businesses to form racing teams, compete in a fun atmosphere, and crown a winner of the Corporate Cup. Following the race is AfterGLOW, the region’s largest “office party.”

The sixth annual Batavia Football Golf Outing will be held on Saturday, July 21, at Batavia Country Club. It is located at 7909 Batavia Byron Road, Batavia.
Cost is $90 per golfer / $360 per foursome.
Payment and registration is due by July 13. Please provide names of players and preferred T-shirt size.
There's a shotgun start format starting at 8 a.m. on July 21; registration is 7:15-7:45 a.m.

Admission is $16.
Food and beverages available all day. Chicken BBQ available at 5 p.m.
Gates open at 8:30 a.m., pulling starts at 10 o'clock for three divisions of Antique / Stock Pull.
