Williams family of Oakfield to host lemonade stand at Valle Jewelers in Batavia to help fight pediatric cancer

Oakfield resident and Childhood Cancer Hero, Brady Williams and his family, have been selected as Lemonade Days Hero Reps! Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation selected 36 families across the country as ambassadors for their national fundraiser in June. Each family symbolically represents the 36 children diagnosed with cancer daily in the United States. The Williams’ lemonade stand is from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Spaghetti Dinner Benefit for Quinten Betances and Rivers Fanara

A Spaghetti Dinner Benefit for Quinten Betances and Rivers Fanara will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, at the Salvation Army headquarters at 529 E. Main St. in the City of Batavia. The boys’ mother, Melissa Eichelberger Betances (daughter of Doug and Sherry Mellenthine) passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 16. Come out and show your suppport for these little ones. Tickets are $10, at the door or prepaid by contacting Tammy Griffin at 356-7631. There will be basket raffles, 50/50, baked goods for sale, and much more.

United Way’s 9th Annual Day of Caring to benefit nonprofits

On May 18, the Genesee County United Way will be employing the resources of 350+ voluteers for the 9th Annual Day of Caring. The United Way Day of Caring provides local businesses with volunteer opportunities throughout Genesee County where their employees can harness their energies to make Genesee County a better place to live. This year there are more than 35 nonprofit agencies that will benefit from volunteer support to paint, landscape and perform general beautification projects. Guest bartender fundraiser at The North Pole Restaurant for Volunteers for Animals

Join the fun at The North Pole Restaurant & Party House from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, as guest bartenders pour your favorite drink  to benefit animals at the Genesee County Animal Shelter. This fundraiser is for Volunteers for Animals and all tips collected will be donated to them for the benefit of our homeless, furry friends.

2016 GENESEE COUNTY CROP HUNGER WALK Saturday, April 30th Join us for the annual CROP Hunger Walk on Saturday, April 30th!  The CROP Hunger Walk has been a tradition in Genesee County for 26 years. In that time, our walks have raised over $58,000!  CROP Hunger Walks are sponsored by Church World Service, an organization that works in the U.S. and around the world fighting hunger and malnutrition, providing assistance to communities in the face of disasters, helping to provide clean drinking water to communities in need and much more.

Kiwanis Club of Batavia hosts Spaghetti Dinner at YWCA

You are invited to a Spaghetti Dinner at the YWCA in Batavia from noon to 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 24, to benefit local children’s projects. 4-H Sheep and Goat Club car wash fundraiser at Batavia Tractor Supply

The Genesee County 4-H Sheep and Goat Club will be holding a car wash fundraiser from 10am to 2pm on Saturday, April 16th at the Batavia Tractor Supply Store, 4974 East Main St. Road, Batavia. Cost is $5 per car and profits will be put toward installing new animal pens in their barns at the Genesee County Fair, held in Batavia during the week of July 11.
