A one-vehicle rollover accident is reported in the area of 1855 Lewiston Road, Alabama.

Alabama fire and Mercy EMS responding.

It's believed the injuries are minor.

Accident reported on Jackson Street in the city

An accident is reported at 127 Jackson St., between Morton Avenue and Maple Street, and there is possible entrapment and perhaps injuries. City fire and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 7:08 p.m. (by Howard): Two vehicles involved. One person transported to UMMC. One vehicle received front-end damage and the other vehicle had a banged-in door on the passenger side. Firefighters needed to pry open the driver-side door and help the driver from the vehicle, who was then loaded onto a stretcher. Police had not yet determined the cause of the accident. Jackson Street has a dusting of snow covering a thin layer of ice.

Pedestrian struck by car on East Main at Swan

Speed and alcohol factors in last month's fatal crash in Oakfield

Speed and alcohol were factors in the motor-vehicle accident death of David Beehler Jr., 37, of Maltby Road, Oakfield, according to Chief Deputy Gordon Dibble of the Genesee County Sheriff's Office.

No other details of the accident were released following the completion earlier this week of a preliminary investigation.

Beehler was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on Fisher Road, Oakfield, on Dec. 22.

He was reportedly driving his 2009 Dodge Ram pickup truck when it hit a tree and a utility pole. Beehler was ejected from the vehicle, according to information released after the accident.

Beehler was a local volunteer firefighter.

Car reportedly hits tree stump on Meadville Road, Alabama

A car has reportedly hit a tree stump in the area of 7238 Meadville Road, Alabama.

There is one occupant, reportedly unconscious.

Person can't get out of car after rollover in Bethany

A driver reports being suspended in his car, strapped in with a seatbelt, but unable to get out because of a handicap, following a rollover accident in the area of 9545 Bethany Center Road, Bethany.

The driver tells dispatchers he or she is not injured.

Driver cited in fatal pedestrian crash

A 78-year-old Le Roy resident has been issued traffic citations stemming from a pedestrian accident Saturday night that claimed the life of a Batavia resident at Main and Bank streets.

Robert Christner was cited for failure to yield right-of-way to a blind or visually impaired person in a crosswalk and expired NYS inspection.

While the investigation is continuing, police investigators have concluded that Joseph Ogozaly, 58, who was legally blind, was crossing Main Street northbound on the west side of Bank Street with the light and had the right of way when he was allegedly struck by Christner's black pickup truck.

Christner was on Main Street, westbound, and was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

Car vs. pole accident in Le Roy, driver has minor head injury

A car vs. pole accident is reported at 7759 E. Main Street Road, Le Roy, at the Country Club. The female driver has a minor head injury. The utility pole is broken and sparks are said to be arcing from it. Le Roy fire and ambulance are responding.

UPDATE 3:57 p.m.: Fire police are requested to shut down traffic on East Street Main Road at South Street and at Asbury Road.

UPDATE 4:28 p.m.: The driver is being transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester.

UPDATE 5:03 p.m.: The roadway is being reopened.

Car vs. bus accident reported in Alexander

A car vs. bus accident is reported at Railroad Avenue and Main Street in Alexander. No injuries are reported but Mercy medics are called to the scene for evaluation. Alexander Fire Department is responding.

UPDATE 4:29 p.m.: This involved a school bus. The few children onboard were evaluated by medics and deemed unhurt. Their parents are en route to pick them up and then the assignment will be back in service.

Car hits utility pole on Liberty Street

A car has hit a utility pole on Liberty Street. 

The street is unpassable because of a possible power line down in the roadway.

City fire is responding.

Also, unrelated, a low-hanging wire, unknown type, is reported on Batavia Elba Townline Road between State Street Road and Norton Road. Town of Batavia fire is responding.

UPDATE 4:33 p.m.: A car did NOT hit a utility pole on Liberty Street. A car snagged a utility line, either phone or data. Firefighters cut the line and are back in service.

UPDATE 5 p.m.: Pembroke and Indian Falls are dispatched to Remsen Road, between Akron Road and Knapp Road, for low hanging wires. Unknown type of wires.

UPDATE 5:07 p.m.: It's a Time Warner line reports a chief. It will be cut. All units to remain in quarters. 

ATV found crashed into steel barrier on Chapel Road, Byron, but operator not found

An ATV struck a steel barrier on Chapel Road, just north of Route 262, in Byron. Unknown injuries. The caller reports not seeing an operator of the ATV in the vicinity. Byron and South Byron fire departments are responding. The location is just north of the old railroad bed. Command on scene tells responders to approach in non-emergency mode. "It appears this accident occurred some time ago. We're still looking in the brush here. ... I don't think there's anyone to be found here," command says. Law enforcement is responding, too. Mercy medics' response was cancelled.

UPDATE 10:55 a.m.: The fire departments are returning to service. "Law enforcement will handle it from here," command says.

Pedestrian struck by black pickup truck at Bank and Main downtown

A pedestrian was reportedly struck by a black pickup truck at the intersection of Bank and Main streets in Downtown Batavia a few minutes ago. The truck then reportedly went into the JC Penney parking lot at the mall before leaving there and turning left onto Washington Avenue. City fire, police and medics are responding.

UPDATE 7:15 p.m.: The pickup driver did not flee the scene, rather drove to a safe location nearby. A Mercy medic happened to get on scene soonest and said the patient was transported to a hospital before a determination was made as to medical condition.

UPDATE Sunday morning: The pedestrian succumbed to his injuries. The victim is identified as Joseph W. Ogozaly, 58, of Batavia. Following the accident, the patient was transported by Mercy EMS to a Mercy Flight landing zone and transported to Strong Memorial Hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. The investigation is ongoing and no charges against the driver have been placed at this time.

Accident and possible fire reported on Bloomingdale Road

A one-car accident, car into a tree with a possible fire under the car, is reported in the area of 215 Bloomingdale Road, Alabama.

UPDATE 10:57 p.m.: It's not believed there are any injuries.

UPDATE 10:59 p.m.: A first responder reports flames showing.

UPDATE 11:13 p.m.: A chief on scene reports the car is now fully involved.

UPDATE 11:18 p.m.: Bloomingdale is closed at Tesnow and at Wright roads.

UPDATE, Saturday morning: The Sheriff's Office has released a statement about the accident, which is under investigation. Craig M. Meyer, 30, of Cherry Street, Batavia, was reportedly driving a 1999 Ford SUV when the vehicle left the roadway, drove through a field and then collided with several trees in the yard of 218 Bloomingdale Road. Meyer was removed from the vehicle by several witnesses as the vehicle began burning. He was transported to ECMC by Mercy EMS.

Failure to yield right-of-way blamed for accident on Route 63

A driver was cited for alleged failure to yield Thursday following an afternoon accident on Route 63 at Galloway Road that sent three people to UMMC with minor injuries.

Lisa Marie Wilson, 25, of Springville, who was among those reportedly injured, was cited for allegedly making a right turn from Galloway to Route 63 with another car approaching that had the right of way.

The accident was reported 2:47 p.m. and Town of Batavia fire and Mercy EMS responded.

Also injured were Michele A. Fox, 48, and Brandi L. Baker, 24, both passengers in Wilson's 2013 Hyundai sedan. 

The other driver, Truman W. Johnson, 63, of Medina, wasn't injured.

The accident was investigated by Deputy Eric Meyer.

Accident with injuries reported at Lewiston and Galloway

A motor-vehicle accident with injuries is reported at Galloway Road and Lewiston Road. Town of Batavia Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding. Law enforcement is on scene. Fire police are requested to shut down eastbound traffic at Galloway and Kelsey roads.

Two people trapped inside vehicle after rollover accident at Fargo and Sumner

Two people are injured and trapped inside a vehicle that rolled over at Fargo and Sumner roads. Darien Fire Department is responding along with Mercy medic #3.

UPDATE 8:13 a.m.: Patients are out and not injured. Medics back in service. There was a family of four involved, mom and dad, and two toddlers. Two dogs were also in the vehicle and one of them took off following the accident. There was a second vehicle, too.
