Motorcycle accident reported at Bloomingdale and Griffen roads

A motorcyclist is down in the roadway after an accident at Bloomingdalew and Griffen roads on the Tonawanda Indian Reservation. Alabama Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding, and told to come in non-emergency mode. Minor injuries. Traffic control will be needed.

Three-car collision reported in Village of Le Roy, unknown injuries

An accident involving three vehicle is reported at 59 Main St. in Le Roy. Unknown injuries. Le Roy fire and ambulance responding.

UPDATE 4:17 p.m.: A first responder requests one bag of absorbent material for spilled fluids and says to can be brought in non-emergency mode.

UPDATE 4:24 p.m.: Make that two bags of Speedy Dry.

UPDATE 4:28 p.m.: The Le Roy assignment is back in service. No injuries reported.

Accident reported on Broadway Road, Darien

An accident involving three vehicles is reported in the area of 776 Broadway Road in Darien. There are injuries. Darien fire and ambulance dispatched along with Mercy medics. The location is east of Harlow Road.

UPDATE 11:47 a.m.: Law enforcement on scene reports only two vehicles involved. Everyone is out of the vehicles. One person has a head injury, another has a hand injury.

UPDATE 12:30 p.m.: Darien ambulance just arrived at UMMC with one patient.

License plate left behind after accident on Slusser Road

Somebody is missing a license plate from their vehicle after driving on Slusser Road in Batavia.

A dispatcher says the residents at 8299 Slusser Road "heard a loud bang about 4:30 this morning. They have the license plate and there is damage to their property." The responding deputy says "I would consider that a clue."

He just arrived there and reports that a couple of road hazard signs are down, too.

Pedestrian hit in front of Post Office in Le Roy

A car has reportedly hit a pedestrian in front of the Post Office at 2 Main St., Le Roy.

Injuries are reported.

Le Roy Fire and Le Roy Ambulance responding.

UPDATE 3:25 p.m.: Law enforcement on location and reports fire and ambulance can respond non-emergency. A chief on scene requests Le Roy Fire equipment to remain in quarters.

Driver injured in early morning accident on Batavia-Oakfield Townline Road

The Sheriff's Office is investigating a single-vehicle accident that was reported about 1 a.m. at 2964 Batavia-Oakfield Townline Road, Batavia.

The driver, Kevin Veazey, 37, of Batavia-Oakfield Townline Road, was transported by Mercy EMS to Erie County Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.

Veazey's 2009 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup truck went off the roadway and hit a culvert. 

The Sheriff's Office reports that charges are pending.

Town of Batavia fire also responded to the scene.

Pedestrian struck in parking lot of Home Depot

A pedestrian has been struck in the parking of Home Depot on Veterans Memorial Drive.

Town of Batavia Fire Department and Mercy EMS responding.

Law enforcement is on scene.

UPDATE: The suspect vehicle left the scene. Police are looking for a red four-door Nissan, Virginia plates, which may have been heading to the Thruway. The driver is described as black and wearing a blue shirt and blue shorts.

Two Le Roy residents injured in accident involving dump truck

Two people were injured this morning after the vehicle they were in allegedly failed to yield to a dump truck on Route 20 in Pavilion.

Injured were driver Lynnette Duckworth, 48, of Callan Road, Le Roy, and George Duckworth, 35. Both were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The accident was reported at 9:52 a.m.

According to an accident report prepared by Deputy Joe Loftus, Lynette was driving south in a 2016 Toyota SUV on South Street Road when she failed to yield to an eastbound dump truck driven by Caitlin Morsch, 28, of Avon.

Accident on Route 19 in Pavilion

An accident is reported in the area of 9683 Route 19, Pavilion.

A person is injured and may be having a medical emergency.

The vehicle hit a pole. The pole is not down. It is broken. National Grid being notified.

There had been a prior complaint about an erratic driver in the area.

The location is just south of the Le Roy Town Line.

Accident with injuries on Veterans Memorial Drive causes power outage

An accident with injuries is reported on Veterans Memorial Drive. A transformer was struck and damaged and there's a power outage in the area. Veterans Memorial Drive was being shut down at Park Road. Town of Batavia Fire Department is responding along with Mercy medics and law enforcement.

UPDATE (By Howard): One person was injured and transported to an area hospital by Mercy EMS. The driver was detained pending further investigation. The silver SUV was headed west on Veterans Memorial Drive and went off the road striking the power pole. A transformer was taken out of service as a result. The driver reportedly told a deputy that a deer was in the roadway when the accident occurred at about 2 p.m. At one point, as many as 700 customers were without power, but the power outage now seems contained to an isolated area around the accident scene. Repairs are expected to take four or five hours.

Accident reported at Route 5 and Indian Falls Road

An accident is reported at Route 5 and Indian Falls Road. Eastbound traffic is being shut down. East Pembroke Fire Department is on scene and Mercy medics are responding. Mutual aid for traffic control is requested from Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments.

UPDATE 2:31 p.m.: A trooper deputy at the scene said the silver pickup truck was eastbound on Route 5 when a black pickup truck (not pictured) attempted to turn left off of Indian Falls Road onto Route 5. Possibly due to either speed or inattentiveness, the silver truck came up quickly on the black pickup truck and tried to avoid crashing into it by swerving. The silver truck hit and broke a utility pole and then struck a parked, unoccupied dark-blue sedan (in photo on right). No one was injured. The accident is being investigated.

Motorcycle crash reported on Ellicott Street Road, minor injuries

A motorcyclist is down in the area of 5050 Ellicott Street Road, Batavia. Minor injuries are reported. A vehicle may also be involved in the accident. Town of Batavia Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding. The location is between Sheppard Road and Bethany Center Road.

UPDATE 11:45 p.m.: The adult male motorcyclist is being evaluated; very minor, if any injuries. A small child, maybe about 5 years old, was a passenger on the bike and was not injured. A small pickup truck towing a trailer collided with the motorcycle, but the driver was not injured. There is minor damage to the motorcycle.

Accident reported at East Main and Harvester in the city

An accident with possible injuries is reported at East Main Street and Harvester Avenue, Batavia. City fire and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 1:17 p.m.: An officer at the scene said the driver of the red Corvair rear-ended a charcoal gray Dodge sedan. A female passenger in the Dodge sedan was able to walk to the ambulance, which took her to UMMC for evaluation.

Car hits pole in Village of Alexander

A car has reportedly hit a pole in the area of 10532 Main St., Alexander.

The car is smoking.

Unknown injuries.

Alexander fire and ambulance dispatched.

UPDATE 5:53 a.m.: The pole is broken but upright.

UPDATE 6:02 a.m.: A field sobriety test is being conducted.

UPDATE 6:25 a.m.: The vehicle also struck a sign on Route 98 in front of the fire hall. There is no tow yet for the vehicle because firefighters are concerned about electrical lines on the vehicle. National Grid is in route, no ETA.

Car crashes into woods off eastbound Thruway, East Pembroke fire responding

A motor-vehicle accident with possible injuries is reported on the eastbound Thruway at mile marker 398.9. A car went off the roadway and crashed into the woods. East Pembroke Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 3:03 p.m.: The East Pembroke assignment is back in service.

UPDATE 3:08 p.m.: Medics are transporting a 56-year-old male to UMMC. He has some glass in his eyes and complains of left elbow pain. His vehicle went "off the road, into a ditch, through some grass and into the woods," says a medic.

Accident with injuries reported at Galloway and Kelsey roads, Batavia

A two-vehicle accident with injuries, abd blocking traffic, is reported at the intersection of Galloway and Kelsey roads. Town of Batavia Fire Department is responding along with Mercy medics.

UPDATE 1:28 p.m.: Command reports that shovels and brooms will be needed to clean up the debris. No fluids are leaking.

Two-vehicle accident with minor injury reported at Wortendyke and Route 5, Batavia

There's a two-vehicle collision reported at Wortendyke Road and Route 5, Batavia. One person is complaining of shoulder pain. One vehicle is in a ditch. East Pembroke Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 11:39 a.m.: A trooper said a car was turning onto Wortendyke, and so was another car behind it when a white pickup struck the second vehicle; the truck driver told the trooper he did not see the second car.

Accident with entrapment reported in Corfu on Route 77

A head-on collision with entrapment is reported in Corfu on Alleghany Road in front of the Dollar General store.

Three ambulances requested.

Corfu fire, Mercy EMS dispatched.

Law enforcement is on scene.

UPDATE 10 p.m.: Four injuries. An officer on scene says, "it doesn't look like anybody is super serious." Darien ambulance responding.

UPDATE 10:01 p.m.: Pembroke fire requested to shut down traffic at Route 5 and Route 77.

UPDATE 10:18 p.m.: Mercy Flight #5 out of Batavia has been dispatched to the scene.

UPDATE 10:31 p.m.: Patient extricated.

UPDATE 10:58 p.m.: Route 77 reopened.
