  Donald M. Bernard, age 57, of Fillmore, NY passed away on Friday June 26, 2020 in Stafford, NY from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident. He was born in Warsaw, New York on October 5, 1962 a son to the late Donald F. and Beverly (Rice) Bernard.

Don was a graduate of Letchworth Central School class of 1981. Don was employed by Jimmy’s Towing and Auto Body in Mt. Morris. He enjoyed gardening, riding his motorcycle, listening to music, was an outdoorsman who like to hunt, trap and fish..

He is survived by his companion: Cheryl Lariviere of Fillmore, 2 sons: Austin and Chase Bernard both of Fillmore, 4 step-children: Shanda (Jason) Marshall of Portageville, Josh Boyd of Sardina, Kayla Stott of Fulton, Logan Lariviere of Fulton, sister: Connie McHugh of Silver Springs, 4 brothers: Robert (Lisa) Bernard of Silver Lake, Greg Bernard of Stafford, Steve (Theresa) Bernard of Arcade, Brian (Pam) Bernard of Venice, Fl., grandson: Damon Bernard,5 step grandchildren: Jayden , Aaliyah and Mariah Marshall, Destiny Stott and Zachary, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Beatrice “Beady” Anna (Sheffer) Warren, 98, formerly of Stafford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28^th, 2020.

Beady was born on December 13^th, 1921 in Stafford, New York. She grew up in a strong family that taught her the value of hard work; something she never stopped doing. She told stories of picking potatoes for spending money, working at the Stafford Country Club, and raising her beautiful family. Her love of cooking and sweets, volunteering, and being part of the community was well known. She was a lover of cards and letters, long Sunday drives around the lake, traveling, and music. Not a day passed without the crackle of the radio in the kitchen which was always tuned to WBTA. She loved to watch reruns of the Lawrence Welk Show as much as she did when they were brand new. A member of the Stafford Ladies Auxiliary for 45+ years, Beady also volunteered at the Batavia Senior Center and was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Stafford.

Ninety-eight years is a long time, and Beady lived through so many major events in her lifetime, it’s hard not to mention them. Born in the twilight of America’s last major pandemic, and the year after women gained the right to vote, she spent her childhood in the Great Depression, and the first years of her marriage in World War II. It wasn’t long before the ball point pen and televisions were first brought into her home. Then came the moon landing, the Cold War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the Civil Rights movement. But, the 20^th century wasn’t done yet and gave her the fall of the Soviet Union, the removal of the Berlin Wall, and the Challenger explosion. By this time, her children were grown with children of their own, and she walked right by the Gulf War and Y2K to enter the new millennium, experience 9/11, and the birth of the information age. She saw 17 presidents come and go from office. And it is here, just a few years shy of her centennial, she decided her time had come to take a well-deserved rest.

Beady is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Earl Glenn Warren, whom she married at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, on Saturday, December 16^th, 1939; Both of her parents, Fredrick J. Sheffer and Anna Heal Sheffer of Stafford; All of her sisters and brothers, Gladys (Dayton) Nichols, Lucille (Leon) Hammer, Gertrude (Vernon) McWethy, Clayton and Marie Sheffer, Donald and Vivian Sheffer, and Louise Sheffer.

She is survived by her daughter Bonnie (Jim) Woodruff and her son Jerry Warren (Marcia McKenzie); her grandchildren; Maureen (Paul) Egeling, Zoe (Geoff) Maves, Rebecca (John) Kollmorgan, Jessica Warren (James Schemanski); eight great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service is to be held at a later date, and a small service will be held at the Stafford Rural Cemetery for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her honor be made to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or to the Stafford Fire Department.

PATRICK MICHAEL MALLOY ~ Age 60, of Elba, died peacefully Sunday morning June 28, 2020 at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Johnstown, PA on May 21, 1960 to John “Jack” Malloy of PA and the late Sandra (Rolley) Malloy also preceded in death by a brother, Robert Malloy.

Patrick served with the US Army Reserves, worked as a miner/heavy equipment operator for the US Gypsum Co. until its closing also working for American Rock Salt. He was an avid military collector of WWI & WWII memorabilia, antiques and owned many a muscle car over the years. Pat’s family reflects on how he enjoyed nothing more than the quiet, peaceful time he spent sitting on his porch out in the woods.

Surviving along with his father, Jack (Randy) Malloy of PA is his beloved wife of many years, Henrietta (Shirley) Malloy of Elba; loving sons, David (Amanda) Malloy of Oakfield and daughter, Payton; Billy (Virginia) Malloy of Oakfield and their children, Ayden and Ella; siblings, Cynthia (Glenn) Shank, John Malloy both of PA; step-children, Nora Weber of Seneca Falls, Sunshine Weber of the Tonawanda Indian Res., DeerInWater Hill of CA and Jonathon Shirley of Seneca Falls along with several step-grandchildren;  step-siblings, Michael (Denise) Stiffler of SC, Terry (Mark) Piper of PA  and several nieces, nephews also survive.

  Jeanie M. Thompson, age 38, of Attica, NY passed away on Sunday June 28, 2020 at Suzanne’s Comfort Care Home in Perry after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Batavia, NY on May 31, 1982 a daughter to Glenn J. and Audrey J. (Mayer) Thompson of Attica. Jeanie is preceded in death by maternal grandparents: Gordon and Gladys (Spring) Mayer, paternal grandparents: Howard “Joseph” and Lillian (Chapel) Thompson and uncle: Wayne Mayer.

Jeanie was a graduate of Attica Central School class of 2000. She worked for Genesee Community College in Batavia, she was a former reporter for the Country Courier and worked summers at Darien Lake. Jeanie enjoyed reading, traveling, fulfilling a lifelong dream to go to Paris, and writing. She was a member of the Warsaw’s Write Connection a writing group based out of Warsaw.

Along with her parents she is survived by her boyfriend and soul mate: Mark Nenni of Brockport, sister: Laura (Will) Smith of Eustis, Fl., brother: Gary (Ashley Rowsam) Thompson of Carthage, NY, nephew: Hayden Smith, Mark’s two sons: Trey and Evan Nenni, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends,

Judy A. Wolf, 62 of Attica, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2020. She was born August 27, 1957 in Batavia, to the late Richard (Glenda Schmidt) Wolf.

Judy worked at P.W. Minor in Batavia until it closed and then went on to work at Great Batch in Alden. She loved her draft horses and her dogs.

She is survived by her siblings Loren (Kathy) Wolf of Bergen; Wayne (Linda) Wolf, Lorraine Wolf, Paula (Karl) Hinz all of Attica; several nieces and nephews, 2 great nephews and 1 great niece.

  Emerson Harry Holden, 78, a former resident of Attica passed away on June 17, 2020 at his home in Long Beach, California. Emerson was born on November 28, 1941 in Kenmore, NY. The son of the late Ernest and Grace Holden.

He lived in the Attica area and served in the United States Army before moving to Long Beach, CA, where he was in the painting business. He obtained his pilots license and enjoyed flying his own plane. Emerson was also an avid deep sea fisherman and enjoyed good times on his boat fishing with friends and taking trips to Mexico over the years. 

He is survived by his sister; Nancy Dudek of California and brother; Wayne Holden of New York, along with many other family members.

  Lorraine (nee Jerger) Schurr, Age 96, of North Fort Myers, Florida and Attica passed away on June 23, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late William Schurr.

The dearest mother of the late Kathy (Michael) Dominick, William Jr. (Tonigail), Karen (Tony) Orlando, John (Brenda); loving grandmother of ten and sixteen great-grandchildren.

Pavilion - Michael E. Penders, 66, of Pavilion, passed away on Friday, June 26, 2020, at his home.

Mike was born July 17, 1953, in Batavia, a son of the late James and Leona (Frisco) Penders.

Michael enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, spending time at his camp in Rossie, NY, fishing, as well as riding, fixing and racing cars and snowmobiles.  In his younger years, Mike was very dedicated to the Batavia Downs and caring for the horses.  Mike was a lifetime member of Limerock Speedway and Loyal Order of the Moose - Lodge 1132 in LeRoy.  A long time truck driver, he retired from Ryder Integrated Logistics.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Rosa Penders of Pavilion; a son, Everett (Erin) Penders of Dover Plains; a daughter, Jennifer (Devin) Northrup of Pavilion; grandchildren,  Evelyn Rose Northrup and Mason James Michael Northrup; a brother, James (Carolyn) Penders of Pavilion; sisters, Donna (Geoffrey) Legg of North Carolina, Denise (Robert) Meyers of Dansville and Patricia Moncrief of Phoenix, AZ and several nieces and nephews.

Michael is predeceased by his siblings, Carole (Ferris) Hazlett, Joyce (James) Bratt, Janet (Everett) Shepard and Robert Penders.

Mike's family would like to thank Dr. Matthew Gross and the Fresenius Kidney Care Dialysis Center in Batavia for their exceptional and compassionate care that they provided.

Patricia M. Preston, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2020 after a brief battle with the Covid-19 virus. She was born August 30, 1937 in Batavia, New York to Cecil and Helen Wujick Moscicki. She married her husband of almost 60 years, Willard D. Preston III, in November of 1958, who preceded her in death in 2018.

Patricia was a member of the first graduation class of Notre Dame High School in Batavia, and a graduate of Rochester Business Institute. Patricia retired from the Genesee County Sherriff’s office where she worked as payroll coordinator for many years.

Patricia loved to spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed her family’s visits to The Villages, FL, where she and Willard spent much of their retirement. She loved golf cart rides and dancing in The Village Square with her grandchildren. She never missed an opportunity to join her family for a trip to the beach, or amusement park.

Patricia is survived by her brother, Robert Moscicki of Leesburg, FL; her three children Sharon (Alan) Porch of Bluffton, SC;  Linda (Michael) Bushart of Webster, NY; and Duane (Pamela) Preston of Batavia, NY; and nine grandchildren Mallory Porch, Mackenzie Porch, Caitlyn Porch, Christian Bushart, Aaron Bushart, Rachel Bushart, Kyler Preston, Evan Preston and Julia Preston. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

There are no prior visiting hours. Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 29 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, 303 East Main Street, Batavia (PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN SERVICE LOCATION) Burial will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Batavia. Kenneth Allen White, age 68, of LeRoy, New York, passed away on Wednesday June 24, 2020.

    

Ken was born on December 14, 1951 in Batavia, New York to the late Richard and Arnes (Clark) White.  He grew up in Pavilion, New York and later moved with his family to Cincinnati, Ohio at the age of 11.  A few years later, he returned to Pavilion, before finally settling in LeRoy, New York which he called home for the next 50 years.

     Ken worked for Eastman Kodak in Rochester, New York for over 40 years, eventually becoming Manufacturing Manager.  He received an Associate’s degree in Manufacturing Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology.  He also co-owned and operated Dargan’s Hotel and Restaurant on Lake Street in LeRoy for several years.

     A loving husband and devoted father, his passions were sports, music, grilling, and above all else – family.  Ken was dedicated to coaching youth sports, including youth football and 11 years coaching LeRoy Little League.  He was a father figure to many and will be remembered by his family and friends for his easy-going style and his great sense of humor. 

     Ken is survived by his wife of 47 years, Linda (Caccamise) White; his three sons, Brandon (Kristy) White of Gibsonia, PA, Bryan (Jolene) White of Hawley, PA, and Jayden (AyJay) White of Auburn, NY; his two sisters, Janet Urtel and Diane Hume; his brother, Robert White; his four grandchildren, Matteo White, Juliana White, Leo White, and Siena White; and many other close family and friends.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Arnes (Clark) White; and his brother, Randall White. 

     A private burial will take place at Stafford Rural Cemetery, with a memorial service to be held at a later date.

LeRoy ~ Kevin John Gannon, age 57, of East Main Road, passed away at home unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.

     He was born March 7, 1963 in Iwakuni, Japan, a son of Mary Ann Butkowski Gannon and the late David Gannon.

     Kevin will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother, who cherished his time spent with his family, especially his grandsons.  He was a proud US Navy veteran, where he was an intermediate radio operator.  He enjoyed all outdoor activities including camping, hiking and kayaking.

     In addition to his mother, Mary Ann Gannon of Buffalo, he is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Karen Uberty Gannon; his sons, Brendan Gannon of N. Tonawanda and Kyle (Brianna) Gannon of LeRoy; his grandsons, Bentley and Beau; his brothers, Brian (Roseann) Gannon of Amherst and Todd (Jessica) Gannon of NC, along with many nephews, cousins and dear friends.

     A private family service will be held at this time with a public Celebration of Kevin's Life to be held at a later date.

LINDA L. HEINEMAN ~ Age 73, of Oakfield, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon June 24, 2020 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. She was born on May 23, 1947 in Clarence, NY, a daughter of the late, Kenneth and Caroline (Schwartz) Finkney, also preceded in death by her beloved husband, Vincent E. in 2014; sisters, Lois Falker, Pamela Heineman and brothers, William, Gerald, Kenneth and Ronald Finkney.

Linda enjoyed sewing, camping, visits to the pond and rides in the car. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and sister who has a passion for “Elvis.”

She is survived by her devoted children, Jennifer of Rochester and Heath of Oakfield; siblings, Diane (Marvin) Rosenberg of Pembroke, Carol (Brian) O’Brien of Williamsville; brother-in-law, Gerard Heineman of Corfu; sisters-in-law, Nancy Finkney of Batavia and Betty Finkney of Corfu along with several nieces and nephews.

John K. Waldron, 65 of Holley, passed away on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at Highland Hospital in Rochester. He was born on April 15, 1955 in Batavia to the late John (Ethel Mathes) Waldron.

John worked for 38 years at Graham Manufacturing in Batavia. He was an avid hunter and lifetime member of Holley Rod and Gun Club. John enjoyed welding and fabricating.

He is survived by his beloved wife Cynthia M. (Sommerfeldt) Waldron; children, John (Katherine) Waldron; Alicia (Adam) Andrews all of Holley; grandchildren Ethan and Brooke Waldron; sister Sharon Venuto of Batavia; along with several nieces and nephews.

Sharon Kearns-Falcone of Batavia, lost her courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday June 23, 2020. She was born June 5, 1947 in Batavia, to the late Roland M. (Nellie Lewandoske) Kearns. Sharon was also predeceased by her husband Peter S. Falcone and brother Brian M. Kearns.

Sharon ran the concession stand at St. Mary’s Church Bingo for 15 years where many people enjoyed her soups and pies. She was a member of The American Legion Auxiliary in LeRoy, where she and her family members catered many events. Besides cooking and baking, Sharon enjoyed trips to the casino, but most of all spending time with her loving family.  

She is survived by her daughters Kimberly (Tina) Marple of Canandaigua; Kathleen (Marty) Hein of Batavia; step-children Peter (Theresa) Falcone of NC; Frank Falcone, Michaleen Falcone both of Batavia, and their families. Grandchildren Bobby (Linda) Dickinson, Brittany (Adam) Hein, Stacy (Eric) Hein, Chad (Miranda) Dickinson; great-grandchildren Olivia, Vinny, Payton, Emma, Colton, Harrison, Ani, Catherine, Gracie, Kacy and Brantley; sisters Suzanne Kearns of Batavia; Barbara (Mike) Mittelstadt of Lockport; brother William Kearns of Batavia, along with many nieces and nephews. Also, her special friends Bob (Ruth) VanDorn, Dan (Judy) Ziccardi and Bob Dickinson.

Earl L. Geer, 84 of Alexander, passed away (not from COVID – 19) on Monday, June 22, 2020 at Unity Hospital in Rochester. He was born February 2, 1936 in Alexander, to the late Howard (Marion Lance) Geer. He is preceded in death by brother Norris (Lois A.) Geer and sister Doris (Stuart) Phillips; brothers-in-law George Murphy and Henry Kelver.

Earl was a 1953 graduate of Alexander Central School. Spent two years in the United States Army stationed at Fort Story, VA, in the amphibious unit. He was co-owner of Geer Farm Services, Inc. and member of Alexander United Methodist Church where he served as trustee for many years. Earl was a life member of Alexander Fire Department, Inc. where her served as Secretary from 1962-1965 and treasurer from 1966-1982. He earned Fire Service Award in 1982, member of the fire department bowling team which were state champions in 1966 and played trumpet in the Firemen’s Marching Band for many years. Mr. Geer enjoyed square dancing, camping, playing cards, working and being with his family.
