East Bethany - William C. Tapp, 76, of East Bethany, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at Premier Genesee Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Batavia.

Mr. Tapp was born August 24, 1942 in Batavia, the son of the late Charles Tapp and Margaret Mathers Tapp.

A former member of Godfrey's Pond, he enjoyed to hunt and fish.

He is predeceased by his wife, Evalene Smith Tapp and his sons, Larry Tapp and Kevin Tapp.

Surviving are his grandsons, William A. (Kayleigh) Tapp of LeRoy and Grandson, Robert C. Tapp of Batavia.

Eugene L. Dziekan “Gene”, 79 of Akron, formerly of Batavia, passed away peacefully Saturday (September 15, 2018) at Hospice Buffalo in Cheektowaga.

He was born August 24, 1939 in Batavia, NY, a son of the late John and Jennie Kropatwinski Dziekan.

Gene grew up in Batavia and later was employed by Delco Products in Rochester for over 34 years. He enjoyed fishing, playing dominos, poker and spending time at his cottage in the Thousand Islands. He was known to fix anything and if he could not fix it, then it needed to be thrown away. Gene was also known to be the “Best Grill Man” to his family and friends. He was a member of the Polish Falcons and Sons of the American Legion. Most of all, he cared for his family and enjoyed the time spent with them where he showed his sense of humor often.

Survivors include his wife, Joan Hudomint Dziekan of Akron. Children, Lawrence, Edward, Karen, Paul and Stephanie Dziekan. Stepdaughters, Beverly (Stephan) Carlson, Lynne Klawer and Suzanne. Brothers, Andrew Dziekan. Sister, Helen (Wayne) Robbins. Sisters in-law, Katherine Dziekan and Anita Dziekan. Brother in-law, Douglas Seward. Also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was the father of the late Steven Dziekan and brother of the late John, Francis and Richard Dziekan, Rose Dillon, Eleanor Starowitz and Josephine Seward.

JOSEPH P. MICKEY ~ age 64, of Elba, NY, died peacefully September 11, 2018 at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. He was born February 13, 1954, in Batavia, NY, the son of the late Joseph J. and Anna J. (Gavel) Mickey. 

Joe served country honorably in the US Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. He was retired from the NYS Thruway in Batavia where he was employed for over 20 years. Joe enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, boating, fishing and gardening, he was most proud of his Polish heritage and enjoyed making sauerkraut with family and friends. He loved the Miami Dolphins, had an extensive "Crazy Hat" collection, but the true joys of his life were, his granddaughters, Kelly, Halle and Laney.

He is survived by his loving son, Joseph D. (Sarah) Mickey of Elba; beloved siblings, Linda Cunningham, Susan Mickey, Carol (Angelo) Gifaldi, Nancy Mickey, Gary (Tina) Mickey and Sharon (Steven) Lauzzie along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces & great nephews.

MARY LOU HOUSEHOLDER, age 80, of Batavia, died peacefully on Thursday evening, August 23, 2018 at Unity Hospital. Mary was born in Mansfield, OH, on May 18, 1938 the daughter of the late Ralph and Effie (McNeely) Barrett, also preceded in death by siblings, Norman McNeely, William "Bunk" Barrett, Ralph "Jack" Barrett, Robert Barrett and Carole Ann Haag.  

Mary was raised in Ohio where she lived and worked for a good part of her life. She was very musically inclined, former majorette in High School, enjoyed sketching, water color paintings, quilting, sewing and a former Garden Club Member. Mary moved to Genesee County about 20 years ago where she has enjoyed dinner out with friends, but most importantly for her family as she loved being "Grandma Moo Moo" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her loving children, Jill (Paul Adair) Pickard of E. Bethany, Joe Householder of Batavia and Jim Householder of Ohio; cherished grandchildren, Lisa (John) Zalacca, Scot (Katelin) Pickard and Sara (Josh Adair) Pickard; adoring great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jason, Emma, Felicity, Evan and Ella; sister, Beverly (Charles) Bauer of Ohio; In-laws, Daryl Haag of SC, Pat Barrett of OK and Joan Barrett of Ohio along with being "sweet" Aunt Moo Moo to her many nieces and nephews.

Her family will be present 11am Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Mansfield Memorial Park for a Graveside Service before being laid to rest in the family plot. Please join the family 1pm at the Galion VFW, 229 Market Street Galion, OH for a luncheon following services.

Megan T. Suttell, 28 of Oakfield, passed away on Thursday September 13, 2018 in Buffalo. She was born on May 4, 1990 in Batavia to John (Kathleen Wagner) Suttell of Oakfield. Megan is preceded in death by her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Rena Costa) Wagner; Mr. and Mrs. John (Stella Hamera) Suttell.

Megan graduated from Oakfield-Alabama High School, Ithaca College, and Syracuse College of Law with a Juris Doctor degree. She worked as a lawyer in Buffalo for Frankel Lambert Weiss Weisman & Gordon, LLP.

She is survived by her parents; sister Rachael Lynn Suttell of Oakfield; along with aunts, uncles and cousins.

LeRoy ~ Carol C. Pangrazio, age 64, of South Street Road, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday afternoon, September 11, 2018 at Crossroads House in Batavia following a long battle with cancer.      

    

She was born May 4, 1954 in Rochester, a daughter of the late J. Forbes and Frances Wood Cromwell and Janet Lawson Cromwell.

     Carol is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Neal J. Pangrazio; her children, Kimberly Pangrazio (Tony Candino and his sons, Lucas and Chase) and Travis (Jamie) Pangrazio; granddaughter, Aubrey Pangrazio; brothers, John (Pamela) Cromwell and Mitch (Joy) Cromwell; sisters, Christine Cromwell, Catherine Little, Patricia (Michael) James and Jenny Acker-Duarte, along with many nieces, nephews, dear friends and her loving feline companions, Zuke, Chance and Breezy.  She was also predeceased by her sister, Susan Acker.

     She was a 1972 graduate of Pavilion High School.  In her teenage years she was an active member of several sports teams with field hockey being her top sport.  Following high school she attended Genesee Community College where she graduated with an Associates Degree in 1974.

     Carol was a proud mother of her two children, Kimberly and Travis.  She was always a dedicated mother to make sure her children were able to be active in sports and extracurricular activities.  Her children's fondest memories were their several trips to Disney World during Christmas time. She was a loyal wife, of 38 years, to her husband Neal.  They shared many happy moments together, with their most memorable times being Friday night dinners.   

     Recently, her most proud moment is the birth of her grandchild Aubrey.  She always would carry around a photo album full of baby pictures.  For those that have seen it, you know she had them all printed out as 8 x 10 photos.

     Throughout her life Carol always remained close to her siblings, nieces and nephews, and extended family.  She genuinely cared to know everything that was happening in their lives.     

     After becoming a breast cancer survivor, she had to continue her battle with brain cancer.  She fought in this battle as hard as she could with as much courage as possible and always stayed positive.  She often was more concerned about her friends and family getting through this battle than she was for herself. This was a true testament to Carol’s character. She lived her life for others, not for herself.  Carol’s friends and family will always remember her as the most genuine, caring person they have ever met. 

     Please treat the upcoming services as a celebration for Carol’s life.  If possible, please try to honor her life by wearing the color blue.

  Kenneth E. Anderson, 88, of Arkansas, formerly of Alabama, NY passed away on Saturday September 8, 2018 at Sparks Hospital in Ft. Smith, AR. He was born on March 12, 1930 in Ligonier, PA., to the late Frank and Mary (Garland) Anderson. He is also predeceased by his 1^st wife; Essie (Shetler) Anderson, 2^nd wife Louretta (Fuller) Anderson; siblings Arlene Claycomb, Gladais Smitley, LeRoy Anderson and Ed Anderson.

Ken was a long time tractor salesman all over Western New York. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved racing, camping and tinkering with tractors. He will be remembered as a real people person.

He is survived by his wife; Mary Ann (Maltby) Anderson of AR.; children Ken (Joyce) Anderson, John (Terri) Anderson and Gary (Darlene) Anderson all of Alabama, Belinda (Rick) Cox of Bethany, Joyce (Wilburn) Archer of Ontario and Lisa (Dave) Laney of Alabama; step-children Gaylord (Cheryl) Ace of AR., Terry (Dan) Yates of Batavia, Brian (Tracy) Ace of Batavia, Barbara (Tom) Bodie of AR., Mae (Bob) Shafer of Medina and Matthew Ace of IN.; sister Anna Grace Holby of PA.; 31 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

Hornell - Teresa L. Tanner, age 59, of Hornell, formerly of Oakfield, passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Robert Packer Hospital, in Sayre, Pennsylvania.

Teresa was born November 4, 1958 in Batavia, a daughter of the late William E. Tanner and LaRue V. Paul Tanner.

She is survived by her three brothers, Milton H. (Deborah) Tanner of Bath, Edward M. Tanner of Oakfield and Michael A. Tanner of Hornell; along with aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her sister, Regina L. Tanner, passed away on July 20, 2018.

 Joan M. Dugan, 82, of Darien Center passed away peacefully on Saturday September 8, 2018 at home surrounded by her family. Joan was born on April 21, 1936 in Buffalo to the late Herbert and Irene (Manzack) Fouchie. She is also predeceased by her husband; William Dugan and daughter, Deborah Taylor.

Joan was very active in the Darien Ladies Auxiliary and the Fire Department. She was the Darien Tax Collector for many years. Joan treasured her friends and the times they got to share. She was always on the go and was very strong, fighting until the end. Joan will be dearly missed by her family, friends and the members of the card club.

She is survived by her children; Glenn (Mary) Dugan of Roanoke, VA., Rebecca (Henry) Juliano of N. Tonawanda; son-in-law Jack Taylor of Batavia; 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Corfu - Nie’Sha M. Smith, 23, of Corfu, New York went to be with her Lord on September 4, 2018. She joins her beloved baby sister, LaShana Smith and aunt, Susan Burrell. She is survived by her mother, Rosemarie Smith. Her father, Worrel Chaplin. Brother, Tyrone Smith, and sister,  LaToya Smith. Also, her “neicey poo,” Londyn Percival.

Ni was a Queen to say the least. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. She was loving and caring. She was not perfect, but when she loved, she loved with all of her heart.  She was a magnet for children and loved them as if they were her own. She had a passion for art and music. She was extremely intelligent making the President’s List at Strayer University multiple times. She was proud of herself by beating the odds and graduating high school, getting her license, and her own car.

Ni was always the funniest and loudest in the room. Right now the pain of her passing is loud. It’s loud and it’s heavy. May we all find comfort in knowing she loved us just as much as we loved her.

Her joyous soul will always look over us as she is reunited with her sister. For we have gained a beautiful guardian angel and that is nothing to be sad about. Peace and love. Forever Young. We’ll miss you, Ni.

  Gertrude M. Robusto, 94, of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Friday September 7, 2018 at Episcopal Church Home in Rochester. She was born February 24, 1924 in Rochester to the late John (Grace Fafisca) Torrito. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Pasquale “Pat” G. Robusto Sr. whom she married November 16, 1946; son Joseph Robusto; brothers Frank and Mike Robusto; sisters Libby (James) Lodato; Florence (Joseph) Quattrocchi; sisters-in-law Ann, Mary Robusto, Mary Kerber; brother in law Richard Kerber.

She owned and operated Pat’s Meat Market with her husband for 42 years. Mrs. Robusto was a very talented musician, graduating from East High, had a scholarship to Eastman School of Music and was a longtime member of Genesee Choral. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Choir and Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Robusto loved to cook, root for the New York Yankees and was an excellent baker. Her children and grandchildren were everything to her.

She is survived by her beloved children Pasquale “Pat” G. (Maria) Robusto Jr. of Batavia; Darlene (Wade) Bianco of Batavia; Jeannine (John) Bezon of Chili; daughter-in-law Barbara (George) Robusto-Galliford of Batavia; 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.

A 9:00AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday September 13, 2018 at Ascension Parish, 15 Sumner St., Batavia, NY 14020. Mrs. Robusto will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum in Batavia.

STEPHEN G. CURRY ~ Age 56, of Byron, died unexpectedly Friday evening September 7, 2018 at home. He was born in Warsaw, NY, February 10, 1962 to the late Carole (Cunningham) and Garrey (Diane) Curry of Liverpool, NY.

Steve was an outdoorsman, enjoyed fishing, gardening and simply being outside. A huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan and avid watcher of The Big Bang Theory, Star Trek and Star Wars. Steve was a quiet, unassuming man that adored his wife, for the peace she brought to him, despite his many health issues she was always there to encourage him and for that he was forever grateful. He never judged even when you were wrong, he had a wonderful sense of humor and a deep love of family, he was devoted to his late mother, was a fantastic brother and exceptional father.

Surviving is his "Soul Mate" whom he married October 27, 1990, Laura (Darling) Curry of Byron; loving daughters, Megan (Eric Ficarella) Curry of Elba, Kayla Curry at home and Sasha Curry of Geneseo; "Best Friend/Best Buddy" his grandson, Cayden; siblings, Tracy (Edward) Kenney of Mt. Morris, Jennifer (Richard) Gille of CT, Michelle (David) Tillapaugh of Henrietta, Garrey (Sarah) Curry of VA and Dawn Curry-Clarry of Liverpool, NY; mother-in-law, Phyllis (late Denis) Darling of Stafford; In-laws, Abe (Jennifer Darling, Alan (Chandler) Darling, MollyAnn Darling-Krajcer and Andrew Darling along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
