Stafford/LeRoy ~ Michael A. Mancuso, age 56, passed away on Friday morning (October 20, 2017) at Strong Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

    

He was born June 16, 1961 in Batavia, a son of Murl and Jean Lang Mancuso.

     Michael was a very caring and loving son, brother, uncle and friend, who was an avid hunter.  He was also an airplane enthusiast and would travel to various air shows, many of them in Florida.

     In addition to his parents, Murl and Jean of Lime Rock, he is survived by his sister, Linda  Mancuso of LeRoy; his brother, John (Debbie) Mancuso of LeRoy; nieces, Johnna (Josh) Porter and Jessica Mancuso (Julie Mecklenberg); great-nieces, Joselyn and Jazmyn, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends.

     Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 ~ 7 PM at the  Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Rd. (Rt. 19), LeRoy.  His Rite of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, 44 Lake St., LeRoy.

Mabel L. Spencer, 88, of Attica passed away peacefully on October 17, 2017at the Pathway Home of the Finger Lakes in Seneca Falls, New York. She was born August 14, 1929 in Orangeville to the late Albert (Edith Herr) Schiller. Mrs. Spencer is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert E. Spencer; son Thomas R. Spencer; sisters Mary Reisdorf, Ethel Barbour, Frances Barber and Carrie Wawzyniak; infant brother Laverne Schiller.

Mabel went to Bennington Elementary and Attica Junior and Senior High School. She was loved by family and friends and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her children Kathleen (Mark) Hinman of Macedon and James E. (Sue) Spencer of Warsaw; grandchildren Tammy (Brad) Collins, Patricia (Michael) Harvey, Carrie Ann Kilby, Angela (Patrick) Spencer, Kyle D. Kilby (Hollie), Robert J. Spencer (Jessica), Melinda Spencer, Justin Spencer and Sherrie Spencer; 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

William A. "Bill" Heisler, age 80, of Le Roy passed away peacefully October 16, 2017 at the Batavia VA Maple Lodge Community Living Center with his family by his side.  He was born on November 17, 1936 in Albion to the late Arnold and Mildred (Sandle) Heisler. 

Bill was a proud Army Veteran serving 1955-1957 stationed in Germany.  He retired in 1996 from a career in the VA Health Care System and the National Disaster Medical System.

He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 59 years Marian C. (LaRussa) Heisler; his treasured sisters Ron and Carole (Heisler) Acker-Beatty of Fort Pierce, FL., James and Mickey (Heisler) Hemmer and Rick and Mary (Heisler) Kramer-Woods both of Escondido, Ca., Dutch and Karen (Heisler) VanWyngaarden of Byron, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary E. “Mary Beth” Diehl, 65, of Attica went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday October 13, 2017. She was born on February 9, 1952 to Doris (Reding) Schiller and the late Norman Schiller. In addition to her father, she is predeceased by her loving husband of 30 years; Larry A. Diehl I; brother John “Jack” Schiller and brother in law George (Marge) Diehl.

She is survived by her son; Larry A. (Jill) Diehl II and her cherished grandson; Joshua A. Diehl; step grandsons Spencer and Nathan Draves; siblings Ellen (Steve) Schmidt of Attica, Jeanne (Earl) Seeley of Angelica, Thomas (Adrienne) Schiller of Alexander; sister in law Darlene (Earl) Plummer of Canandaigua and brother in law Kenneth (Pam) Diehl of LeRoy; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.

Mary Beth and her husband owned and operated Good Diehl’s Tavern in Attica for many years and later she jointly owned and operated Top to Bottom Cleaning Service.  She loved her clients and they loved her. She will be greatly missed by many, including her companion, Fluffy.

Mildred I. Marble, 79, of Corfu, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday (October 17, 2017).

She was born on November 5, 1937 in East Pembroke, a daughter of the Erwin and Dorothy Wall Slater.

Millie was a retired Postmaster of East Pembroke where she served for 17 years. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church of East Pembroke where she sang in the choir and served on many committees. She was a Life Member of the East Pembroke Fire Department Auxiliary where she was past President and also held many other offices. Millie was a member of NAPUS and NARFE. She enjoyed traveling with her daughters, crocheting, knitting, sewing and bowling.

Millie was predeceased by her husband of 41 years, Lyle E. Marble, who died in 1997, with whom she and their daughters traveled with while he served in the United States Army. She was the sister of the late Jane Slater, June Slater Culmo and Dean (last Ruth) Slater.

She is survived by two daughters: Michal (Gordon) Petty of Corfu and Candi (Brian) Fite of Fulton; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, with another expected in January; her brother-in-law Peter Culmo of Florida and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Thursday, October 19th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu. Funeral services will be held at the Cornerstone Church of East Pembroke, 2583 Main Road in East Pembroke at 11a.m on Friday, October 20th. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, East Pembroke. West Seneca - Linda L. Cianfrini, 67, of West Seneca, formerly of Basom and Las Vegas, passed away on October 17, 2017 at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital.

Mrs. Cianfrini was born February 10, 1950 in Buffalo, a daughter of the late Frank and Thelma Edwards.

Linda was a bus driver for the Las Vegas School System and was a longtime bus driver for the Oakfield-Alabama School District. She enjoyed crafting, making jewelry and antiques.

She will also be dearly missed by her beloved feline, Skiddy.

Her husband, Ronald J.  Cianfrini, passed away on November 25, 2014.

She is survived by her children, Leah (David) Marco, Eric Mages and James Mages, Jr., all of Buffalo; step-children, Mark (Laurie) Cianfrini of Akron, Danielle (Richard) Howard of Indiana and Nicholas Cianfrini of North Carolina; twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; her brothers, Curt (Joan) Edwards of Lockport and Bill (late Bunny) Rinus of Colden; her step-sister, Shelly (late Jim) Oatman of Springville; her step-mother, Mary Lou Edwards of Springville; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Karen) Cianfrini of Oakfield and  Dennis (Karen) Cianfrini of Fort Myers, Florida; her sister-in-law, Dianne (late Rick) Hewett of Lancaster; her beloved feline, Skiddy and several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her sister, Sandy Fridman.

NATHAN E. KITTRELL ~ East Pembroke

Age 62, died Sunday evening October 15, 2017 at home under the care of Hospice and his loving family. He was born October 28, 1954 in Roanoke Rapids, NC a son of the late Kenneth H. Kittrell and the late Mary F. Saunders. He was preceded in death by siblings, Ricky Dale Kittrell, Michael Kittrell, Linda Varvel and Debbie Jeffries. 

Nate was a union iron worker for many years in North Carolina before moving up to New York a few years back. He was a true outdoorsman who especially enjoyed hunting and fishing, an avid sports fan, especially the North Carolina Tar Heels and NASCAR, his favorite driver, Tony Stewart. Nate had a love for holidays, Christmas being his favorite and will be remembered for his "gift of gab", he loved to talk if someone would listen.           

Surviving are his sons, Paul A. of NC, Levi W. of PA; siblings, Elaine (Don) Newton of East Pembroke, Donnie (Al) Rogers of FL, Kay Carmichael of NC; step-mother, Lucille Brown of NC; grandchildren, Willow Elaine and Chloe Kittrell; dear friends, Ray Chatt, Jimmy Perry & Mary Ann Chatley along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces-nephews, cousins and friends. 

Nate's family will be present from 4-8pm on Friday October 20, 2017 at the MICHAEL S. Betty I. Farley, 95 of Perry, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2017 at Conesus Lake Nursing Home in Livonia. She was born on July 16, 1922 to the late Leslie (Doris Watrous) Wright. She is preceded in death by her husband Frederick Farley and sister Mary Kohring.

Betty was married to Frederick for 53 years. Together they established a home and raised their family on Willovue Farm in Perry. Not only did Betty take care of the many homemaker duties required of a housewife, she also worked by Fred’s side harvesting crops and growing their dairy herd.

Betty will be remembered for her years of service hosting church dinners and fund raisers at Perry Center Congregational Church, serving as an election inspector for over 50 years, and according to her grandchildren baking the best chocolate chip cookies ever made. Betty also made the dinner rolls served at the Fireman’s Chicken BBQ dinners which may have been the star of the meal, and not the chicken.

She is survived by sons Thomas Farley of Perry, Gerald (Claribel) Farley of Apopka, FL and daughter Jeannette (Len) Reiland of Eden Prairie, MN; 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; sister Lois Sliker of Leicester, brothers James (Shirley) Wright of Perry, Lawrence (Linda) Wright of Albuquerque, NM, very special nursing assistant Shelley Sparks, along with many nieces and nephews.

William T. “Tom” Wylie, 81, of Perry passed away peacefully on Thursday October 12, 2017 at the Wyoming County Community Hospital in Warsaw. He was born on June 23, 1936 in Port Alleghany, PA to the late Michael and Josephine (McDonald) Wylie. In addition to his parents, Tom is also predeceased by his first wife; Elma (Popp) Wylie.

Tom was married to Elma Popp in 1955 until her death in 1994.  They had three children, Debra, Linda-deceased and Jeffrey-deceased. Tom serviced in the Army and was posted in Fontainebleau, France for duration of his tour from 1955-1958.  Immediately after discharge he worked for 40 plus years for Rochester Telephone Company.  He was very proud of being a US Serviceman and a Rochester Tele worker.  He married again in October of 2000 to Sandy Chamberlain.  Tom wintered in Winter Haven, FL for the past 23 years, which he enjoyed very much. 

He is survived by his loving wife; Sandra Wylie of Perry; daughter Debra (Douglas) Kelly of TX.; grandchildren Bradley Kelly, Andy and Adam Gell.

There will be no prior calling hours. A 12:00 noon Memorial Service will be held on Friday October 20, 2017 at the Perry VFW Post 5009 located at 20 Washington Blvd. Perry, NY 14530 with full Military Honors. Tom will be laid to rest in Bath National Cemetery.

LeRoy ~ James F. Driscoll, age 80, of Gilbert Street, passed away at home early Friday morning (October 13, 2017) in the loving presence of his family.

    

 He was born July 6, 1937 in Leicester, N.Y., a son of the late John and Mary Daly Driscoll.

     Jim was a very loving husband, father and grandfather, who was devoted to his family and his faith.  Known as the "LeRoy Handyman", Jim enjoyed helping his LeRoyans with his painting and other jobs.  He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, a volunteer fireman for many years and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus, Oatka Fish & Game Club, the Chemical Hose Company and the American Legion. Jim was also a retiree of Lapp Insulator where he provided 40+ years of service.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Catherine McGuire Driscoll; his children, James (Judy) Driscoll of CO, John (Kerry) Driscoll of LeRoy and Patricia Kellogg of LeRoy;  grandchildren, Gregory Jr., Nicholas, Daniel, Christopher, Alanna, Danielle and Ryan; great-grandson, Parker James; brother, John P. "Jack" Driscoll of Geneseo; a special, loving niece, Kelly (Rick Jr.) Cooper of LeRoy and their children, Katelyn, Thomas and Scott, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     In addition to his parents, Jim was predeceased by a brother and three sisters and his loving pet, Sadie.

Samuel J. Ficarella, 90 of Batavia, passed away peacefully at New York State Veterans Home @ Batavia surrounded by his family on Thursday October 12, 2017. He was born December 17, 1926 in Oakfield to the late Anthony (Florence Puccio) Ficarella. Mr. Ficarella is preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy R. (Columbo) Ficarella.

Mr. Ficarella was a United States Army Veteran. He was retired from Trojan Industries in Batavia. Mr. Ficarella was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish, lifetime member of VFW and St. Nicholas Social Club in Batavia. He was a lifetime fan of the New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres; an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Ficarella enjoyed spending time in his garden and making wine. His family was his greatest joy and they will all remember the love he had for them.

He is survived by his children William (Erin), James (Kimberley) Ficarella of Batavia; Cherie (Raymond) Myers of GA; sister Pauline Hamilton of Batavia; 4 grandchildren, Amanda (Thomas) Coggiola, Michael (Natalie) Ficarella, Samantha (Zachary) Alwardt, Nicole (Shawn) Easton; 7 great-grandchildren, Ben, Lily, Vinny, Bryson, Jacob, Anthony and Brooklyn, along with many nieces and nephews.

West Seneca - Lisa Joy Smith, age 56, of West Seneca, went home to heaven on Thursday, October 12, 2017.

Lisa was born January 17, 1961 in Warren, Arkansas, a daughter of Carolyn H. Underhill Smith of Batavia and the late Jay D. Smith.

While we are deeply saddened at her passing we hold tight to the knowledge that she is now fully at peace. Words cannot express how much we will miss her beautiful soul, her ever-happy smile and of course infectious laugh. We are comforted knowing that she is now smiling and laughing with both her Heavenly Father and her loving Daddy who will receive her with open arms as they talk and walk together for the first time down the golden streets of Glory. Lisa Joy taught our family the beauty of unceasing joy and strength as she continued to smile even through all that she has endured, especially the past several months. She may have never spoken a word to us, but she has taught us all more than anyone ever could. Her joy, fighting spirit, resilience and most importantly her love will live on forever in the hearts of our family.

Surviving along with her mother are her sisters, Jaylene Smith-Kilner and Mona (Steve) Doyon, both of Batavia; nieces and nephews, Jeslene (Jordan) Beach of Pavilion, Shaylene Kilner of Batavia, Todd (Charisse) Logsdon of Indian Falls, Dallas (Erica) Logsdon of Batavia and Alexis Logsdon of Batavia; great-nieces, Emma Kilner and Kaylee Beach, both of Pavilion and her extended family and caregivers at Bernadette Terrace.

Bruce E. MacCowan, 81, of Batavia passed away peacefully on Saturday October 7, 2017 at the Batavia Health Care Center. He was born on October 1, 1936 to the Late Earl E. MacCowan.

He is survived by his siblings; William (Joann) MacCowan of Batavia, Lynn McKewen of LeRoy and Robert MacCowan of Florida.

Delores Tabone, 87 of Rochester, formerly of Batavia, passed away on Thursday October 12, 2017 at St. Ann’s Community Nursing Home in Rochester. She was born October 15, 1929 in Batavia to the late Charles F. (Gertrude Penepent) Tabone. She is preceded in death by her brother Charles F. Tabone Jr. and brother-in-law Rudolph DiSanto.

Mrs. Tabone worked as a secretary for the United States Government. She was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish.

She is survived by sisters Jeanette DiSanto of Batavia; sister-in-law Sandra Tabone of Rochester, nieces and nephews Rudolph, Barbara, Deborah, and Michael; along with several very close friends.
