
Mr. Ficarella was a United States Army Veteran. He was retired from Trojan Industries in Batavia. Mr. Ficarella was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish, lifetime member of VFW and St. Nicholas Social Club in Batavia. He was a lifetime fan of the New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres; an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt and fish. Mr. Ficarella enjoyed spending time in his garden and making wine. His family was his greatest joy and they will all remember the love he had for them.
He is survived by his children William (Erin), James (Kimberley) Ficarella of Batavia; Cherie (Raymond) Myers of GA; sister Pauline Hamilton of Batavia; 4 grandchildren, Amanda (Thomas) Coggiola, Michael (Natalie) Ficarella, Samantha (Zachary) Alwardt, Nicole (Shawn) Easton; 7 great-grandchildren, Ben, Lily, Vinny, Bryson, Jacob, Anthony and Brooklyn, along with many nieces and nephews.
Friends are invited to call on Sunday October 15, 2017 from 3-6 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main St. Batavia, NY 14020. Prayers will be recited 9:00 AM on Monday October 16, 2017 at the Funeral Home followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish 18 Ellicott St. Batavia, New York 14020. He will be laid to rest in Grand View Cemetery, Batavia.
