These carnivorous lizards are not something to mess with, according to wikipedia. They've been known to grow 10 feet in length and weigh up to 150 pounds. They will attack humans.

As the call referred to an alleged highly intoxicated person, it's anyone's guess as to what was really happening.
If I had to guess, I'd be leaning towards someone slurring their words, while saying, "My kimono's draggin' in the hallway" - as in, after swallowing massive amounts of Japanese sake, and then attempting to do the dance of the Geishas, she fell and couldn't get up (Hmm... where have I heard that phrase before?).

My best guess is that what the woman actually encountered was someone's pet iguana that escaped or was let out for a stroll. They can look pretty scary if you're not used to them. The alleged alcohol consumption might have magnified it to Komodo dragon status. Would love to see a follow-up on this if possible, Billie or Howard!
