We do interfere in the internal affairs of other nations. Perhaps we shouldn't. But that doesn't mean we should just accept Russian interference in our elections.
Personally, I'm not OK with Putin trying to undermine free and fair elections.
“From in or around 2014 to the present, Defendants knowingly and intentionally conspired with each other (and with persons known and unknown to the Grand Jury) to defraud the United States by impairing, obstructing, and defeating the lawful functions of the government through fraud and deceit for the purpose of interfering with the U.S. political and electoral processes, including the presidential election of 2016.”
The obvious smoking gun of conspiracy for me is Trump’s refusal to enact sanctions against Russia that Congress unanimously voted for last year…or to tweet one single word against Putin, ever.
This isn’t a Democrat/Republican thing. It’s an American thing.
I don’t buy into the idea of collusion — though I want to know more about Kushner’s and Trump jr.’s activity during the campaign. Nor do I think it had anything to do with the Magnitsky Act. I don’t even think it was about Putin’s dislike for Hillary Clinton.
Putin wants to destabilize democratic governments in order to prop up his own authoritarian regime. Instability in the US is a propaganda tool with his own people. He promises stability instead of the chaos they see in the west.
I read the first 9 pages, a lot of legal mumbo jumbo....
Anyone else try saying the name of any of the defendants? They even printed their names in Russian which resembles Egyptian hieroglyphics.
Howard, If what you say in the second paragraph is true, from my observations of this country since the self proclaimed genius took office, I'd say Putin knows what he's doing and his mission is pretty much accomplished....
What a dog n pony show... and how may foolish people suck in for it?!!! The real interference in our elections is propagated by the Republican and the Democrat parties. Their escalating feud has become disgraceful, and a true American "enemy within". These two organizations have become so demented over pursuing and
controlling
"power" that they neglect
the responsibility of their calling, they subvert the Constitution, and they
ignore
the common good of the whole American society.
IMO, a bunch of worthless SOBs.
BTW, Morales #4... all the people named in Mueller’s indictment are not in the US, and will never be brought to trial... so what's the purpose??? STOP wasting time and money... there are much more important issues that our government should be addressing. But, truth be told... they probably aren't competent to do so.

One aspect of the Russian interference is clear in Robert Mueller’s 37 page indictment:

Anybody trying to minimize this simply has their head in the sand, playing right into Putin’s hand. Hardly, America First.
I'd worry more about
I'd worry more about Progressive liberalism in the US than I would about the Russians.

If you love America, you worry about any foreign interference in our process.
