The Good Ole Boys from the Byron Fire Department, are as dedicated as they come. The first Antique Fire Truck is being driven by Steve Lockner, a Marine Vet,and volenteer firemen. These guys have all my respect, as do all our Vets, and Emergency Services. Soon after the parade the Byron crew came to my fathers rescue, also a vet, and transported him to the ER. They arrived in less than 5 minutes, and Batavia Ambulance soon followed. Thank you for your dedication, and kindness. God Bless You All!!
Thanks for covering the parade in Byron. You could see the following groups: veterans contingent, military vehicle, Model A (or T?), Boy Scouts, Byron Presbyterian Church, Byron Candy Queen (we were all wondering how she got elected?), Byron Fire Department, South Byron Fire Department, Byron Rescue Scquad, and the Byron Historical Society, and the Bergen Business Association.
It is true that the fire departments and rescue squad are great treasureres in Byron!
Later in the day the Byron Presbyterian Church had a very succesful Plant Sale (sold out!), food concession (sold out!) and auction (not a thing left on the grounds of the church!). We also enjoyed Mr Scribbles entertaining children (and adults), vendors, and sack races and other games for children!
