No comment on this particular
No comment on this particular case....I hope the lady is okay.
I would like to comment on something I've noticed a lot lately. People jaywalking...crossing the street where ever they please. Sometimes crossing against the light. Mostly young people, but I have seen older folks too. Have even seen people crossing by the senior center. I know there is a crosswalk, and the law says, you must stop when someone is in the crosswalk. Some times people are trying to cross Bank Street yards from the crosswalk...they look at you like you're doing something wrong!!
I'm really surprised there aren't more car vs pedestrian accidents.
Glad to hear she was not
Glad to hear she was not seriously injured. Also glad to hear she will be cited for not yielding the right of way to traffic at the intersection.
Too many people think because they are on foot they have the right of way over vehicles, and that is not the case 100% of the time.
NYS law requires pedestrians to yield to oncoming traffic when crossing between intersections, outside of a marked crosswalk, and when traffic has been given the right of way through any intersection.
