A truck bearing a wide load caused a traffic snarl on Ellicott Street shortly after 6 p.m. when the driver found it more difficult than anticipated to maneuver his rig onto Harvester Avenue. The cargo was apparently intended for a business on Harvester. The driver eventually got the load moved enough to allow traffic to pass, but no word on whether the puzzle of how to get it down Harvester was eventually solved.
i understand this monsterous
i understand this monsterous thing tying up traffic on ellicott but i cant understand all the semi's that constantly plug up traffic on ellicott street....no matter what time of day it is there is always too many tractor trailers holding up traffic....and you cant get around them ever since the absent minded decision was made to turn ellicott into 2 lanes...something really needs to be done about the truck traffic...maybe a mini beltway around the city for semi's....or turn it back into 4 lanes...it's rediculous!
Although what this had as a
Although what this had as a cargo may have been wide, systems like the one in this picture are normally used for extremely heavy loads. Weight is the factor for the amount of axles, not the width. All those axles are for weight distribution and braking power more than anything.
Remember one thing Jeff:
Remember one thing Jeff:
There is nothing, not one single thing, that you use in your daily life, that at one time or another was in a 53' trailer pulled by a tractor.
oh ray i guess you just dont
oh ray i guess you just dont get the point
I get your point Jeff.
I get your point Jeff.
It's the same, stupid point many people make when it comes to those "big rigs" tying up traffic, and always wanting an alternate route for them, or eliminating their presence all together.
I live near that intersection
I live near that intersection & when this happened all traffic headed towards that intersection was being sent down colorado ave & when they got to harvester there was a guy standing in the road sending everybody to main street.
yes ray....that tells you
yes ray....that tells you something...everyone has the same point...but it's not stupid...your getting all thumbs down on your responses guy
You really don't think Ray
You really don't think Ray cares about getting down votes do you Jeff? Folks that worry about stuff like that have to be pretty thin-skinned and for some reason Ray doesn't strike me as a member of that group.
Hell... I just noticed I got a down vote for my comment, can't imagine why but I couldn't care less either.
"Folks that worry about stuff
"Folks that worry about stuff like that have to be pretty thin-skinned "
Or are OCD over acceptance of their comments.
"You really don't think Ray cares about getting down votes do you Jeff?"
Don't even pay attention to the little thing, as to obsess over it would cause me to miss the bigger picture.
