Since there is no direct City involvement other than helping get the program started and no tax money being used, why not? There will some sort of volunteer group to coordinate any effort that is set up. If it works, great, if not, then we are no worse off than before. Give it a try.

When we were living on Long Island, the Town of Brookhaven was engaged in trap, neuter, vaccinate and return stray cat program and it was quite successful.

Thomas, first of all, you are probably breaking the law, if you are attempting to administer rat poison to stray or feral cats. And how do you prevent other animals from ingesting said poison? Poisoning cats is also psychotically cruel; as far as I'm concerned, it's akin to torture. Seek help.
Second, if you poison them with rat poison, there will be poisoned remains that could potentially kill raptors, Corvids, and other domestic animals that might consume the poisoned animal or carcass. Talk about stupid.
Third, whether they happen to be pets or strays or feral, cats are NEVER "rodents." Did you miss your basic biology classes? I mean, seriously.

Below the article, someone using the moniker Woodsman posted 3 very lengthy, AND DISTURBING, comments on the eradication of said cats.
I'd feel very concerned for anyone living, or even traveling, within 2-miles of Woodman's 'territory'.

actually tnr has been on going in our community for some time. there are very few involved in this. T & C restaurant for example.. most kitties there have been trapped and rehomed! this done only by a few...Kudos to these volunteers....but...t & C still has a dumpster and there are still more ferals that you wont see because true ferals dont trust u.....
