Bob - if you know of no serious negative affects, then you have not been reading papers or watching the news. Folks near fraking sites in Pennsylvania can light their tap water on fire. There have been earthquakes in the Midwest where earthquakes have been practically non-existent. And those are just two very serious negative affects.
I lived in Wilkes-Barre PA for 10 years long before fracking and the local water was undrinkable then! I dont know if fracking is good or bad but using the PA water system as an excuse is not going to cut it for me.
wow, I'm very surprised by the NO votes. I thought it would be the people vs. the corporate elite, but apparently my neighbors don't care about what we put in the ground. I did have a neighbor burn his pool liner this past summer during the night, so I know he doesn't care.
Will any of the NO voters care to share their thoughts? Allow me to ask you, why do you think fracking for gas is a good thing and would you mind if they drilled and fracked in your neighborhood, say like uphill from your house?
If this is viewed as an environmental win, it is a case of smoke and mirrors. NYC is to receive 800 MILLION BARRELS of natural gas via the Spectra Pipeline (fracked gas from PA) PER DAY. They also ship 12,000 TONS of garbage/DAY out to states as far away as the Carolinas. I think the message being sent is that we care about the environment here (mostly), but across state lines, BWAhahahaha.
If it wasn't for fracking Terrence Pegula wouldn't be owning the Bills and the Sabers..If people want to use the excuse that it might contaminate well water then i guess we should ban farming....If the people in the southern tier want to allow fracking let them....

I believe its 16 states that are currently reaping the benefits of fracking and I know of no serious negative effects.
Score another for the downstate liberals and CM.
Is that me to whom you refer?
