I betcha his football card is worth more than a hundred dollar waiver ! I do believe he is a HOF isnt he ?

Hey Gabor, whats the best way to sell baseball, and football cards to get their worth?? My hubby has boxes of both from the 1950's and 60's. He also has 2 balls that Willie Stargell and Roberto Clemente, and a few others signed that just sit. I know he has some OJ Rookie cards up there as well as many other famous players. He has posters,and all kinds of memorabelia.We have tryed to find buyers but havent really had much luck.

You almost never get book value. I would get a recent beckett price guide. They are split by sport and come out each new season for each sport. A one year old guide will do. The highest price is just an idea but the biggest factor that affects price is condition. Each price guide explains how to "grade" the condition of each card and how much it affects the price. I would try ebay for the most expensive cards but you must scan them and be totally honest about condition. Its a good idea to start the bidding lower than what its worth but if the demand for that card is high then u might get full value. Also, Cards sell better when that sport is in season. I spent alot of money putting a barry bonds card collection together and a few months later the steriod deal happened and I can barely get anything for them. Rookie Cards are the most sought after and usually command the largest profit.

Is it true that I should have someone Authenticate the cards, and have them laminated?

Karen- Don't laminate them! It actually could bring the value down. There are a couple of shops in rochester, one in greece ridge mall by regal theater. They can give you an idea.

Ya Bud we've been there. I won't laminate them, but arent they laminated after they are authenticated? Its tough to get good buyers here in upstate ny, maybe Ill try NYC. I've wanted to visit the site of the twin towers to pay my respects anyway.

When u get them professionally graded they seal them in protective plastic cases. It costs about 10 bucks per card to get them graded. If u want u can by penny sleves and hard shell top loaders for cheap. This is great for handling the cards and preventing damage.

While I don't agree with supply side - trickle down economics, I do agree with the compassion that Jack Kemp felt for the less fortunate. He was a good man. He believed and fought for the inclusion of African Americans and the poor and wanted the Republican Party to return to its Abraham Lincoln roots. He said this in 1997 -- "I believe with all my heart that there is a struggle going on for the heart and soul of the Republican Party. That party must be inclusive, not exclusive, it must be progressive and conservative, not reactionary and conservative."

I'm sure that I speak for all Genesee County Democrats and join all WNY'ers in wishing the Kemp family and friends sincere sympathy during this difficult time.
