Today's Poll: Should Congress pass more laws in 2014?

I hope not. I know of at least one that needs to be repealed, tho'!

More laws for the dubious sake of appearing productive is not what is required. First and foremost the House and Senate need to stop acting like two arenas for high-priced games of Keep Away. Instead of hurling raspberries at each other, the two major parties need to cooperate in producing budgets and fostering plans to put this country's economy back on track. Concomitant with fixing the economy, the Legislature needs to rectify the tax system and the corporate hog trough- stop rewarding bad behavior and start prosecuting the pirate financial institutions that have put the working class in the ditch. I'm sure it will be difficult for some of corporate-America's prize suck-ups to go Cold Turkey, ignoring the financial rewards attendant to riding in the back pocket of lobbyists and fat cats who fill campaign tills. ...So be it.

And the voters need to ween themselves from the worn-thin delusion that answers lie with one of two sell-out parties. Nothing will correct the misguided course of our government like a few dozen third party election victories. Which does not mean voting for the same stiffs on a different ballot line.
