Earlier today, the motorcade of President Barack Obama passed through Genesee County. These photos, submitted by Jordan Difilippo, show the motorcade passing through Genesee County on the Thruway. The photos were taken from Keiffer Road in Pembroke.
A helicopter was first to pass by, followed by New York State Troopers, Genesee County Sheriffs, several law enforcement motorcycles, then more State Troopers, Secret Service SUVs, the President's bus, more Secret Service SUVs, two other buses, more State Troopers, more motorcycles and then more State Troopers in the back.

What collosal waste of our
What collosal waste of our money. During his speech at UB, the President stated that reversing the trend of jobs going overseas was his "highest priority". Thank goodness for that, it is at least his 17th top priority....here are the first 16...and count how many he has accomplished.

His next priority was having lunch with Mayor Brian Higgins
Jeff ... if we're going to go
Jeff ... if we're going to go with politicians' highest priorities, let us not forget the Republicans in Congress.

Here we go. Dollar signs ...
Here we go. Dollar signs ... taxpayer money! Is this bi-partisan money rhetoric, or anti-Obama rhetoric. If the latter, a Republican President traveling through Genesee County would be okay then! I'm a Republican, but can't stand the he said, she said bullsh*t of politics!
Are you serious? Attacking
Are you serious? Attacking the President for visiting this region? Pathetic, just pathetic, and deeply unpatriotic. I'm not sure what happened to respecting the office regardless of it's occupant.
Deleted.

Daniel, there is no
Daniel, there is no disrespect for the office only the man filling it. And what is unpatriotic about an American who works, pays taxes, votes, engages his representatives, and regularly debates political issues, voicing an opinion about the actions and priorities of the President? I listened to the entire speech from UB word for word, and he will deliver the same drivel at Syracuse and Binghamton, the only difference will be him screwing up the names of their local reps while pretending he has a clue who they are. He said nothing, he blamed others again, and he took no responsibility for the conditions that he underlined in the speech. The unaware listener would have sworn he was running for the office, not holding it for the last 5 and a half years. With all the other actual top priorities facing our nation right now it was nothing more than a colossal, expensive, and meaningless diversion from the actual job of being President. I stand 100% behind my previous post.
I am as far politically from
I am as far politically from Obama as you can get, but I like the fact that he came to WNY. Agree with him or not, people had a chance to see the President while in office. That does not happen too often here.
Yes, I agree with John. He is
Yes, I agree with John. He is very carasmatic and personable. I do not see what he has done actually, other that appear on TV a lot. But again, we have not seen a President since Ronald Regan back in 1983.(Rochester) The fact is that NY is so liberal that we see no politicians because they either don't want to waste the money because they can not win, or they don't want to waste the money because they will automatically win. Think it's bad now, wait for Hilary. I give the President the respect the office deserves, and thank him for his visit. But it was a waste of our money.
Whats wrong with excercising
Whats wrong with excercising our 1st amendment right of freedom of speech Daniel, I'm thinking it good to excercise this right while its still unabridged? Its nice to people on the same page (except you) In that they hold the Office of the Presidency in high regard. But as always beyond the initial respect given. The rest should be earned, and his term hasn't done much.
The only notable thing that comes to mind for his entire term is the opportunity and authorization to remove Osama Bin Laden. It didnt quite have the results we wanted on the world stage, but it certainly helped us US citizens with closure on some of the happenings of 2001. The respectability of holding a federal political office is on the downhill slide. Its only gonna get worse if the country moves forward in its politics as it has in the last decade. Feels like we are coming back full circle to the pointand place where our Founding Fathers found themselves before entering into the American Revolution. Its interesting how the mainstream politicans of today at almost any level make the Whore of Babylon look like a girl scout nowadays.
And me without my potato

I was listening to the speech
I was listening to the speech and one of the first things I thought of was: "gee, if people weren't taxed so heavily, they wouldn't have to worry about how much an education costs." How about letting people keep most of their money instead of giving it to the government which chews up a huge chunk of it deciding who to give the money back to?
....and as far as affordable
....and as far as affordable health care goes, which was mentioned in the speech, how about we allow health insurance companies to actually compete across state lines? It seems to me that the biggest contributor to escalating costs for so many things is the government sticking it's nose into everything.
John, I don't disagree that
John, I don't disagree that having a President come to our area is a great thing but to what end? We have not yet recovered from the "worst financial crisis since the Great Depression"...His words, Everyone including Washington MUST "tighten their belts and sacrifice"...His words, he has numerous "top priorities" that weigh heavy on our country...His words. Certainly a trip costing tens of millions of dollars that amounted to rolling out a vague agenda for ranking colleges while Rome burns is questionable at best and unconscionable at worst. Expensive window dressing trips that lack any justifiable substance are just a waste of tax dollars and costly diversions from facing the real tasks at hand. I'll be the first to welcome President Obama to Western New York when he has A.) actually turned the economy around like he said he would, B.) actually implemented policies that create jobs like he said he would, C.) actually lowered my healthcare costs like he said he would, D.) actually cut the deficit in half like he said he would, or E.) actually accomplishes SOMETHING noteworthy other than making Jimmy Carter look good.
