This is not Rwanda, a situation where a lack of intervention of some kind would result in the slaughter of hundreds of thousands. We should avoid intervention in Syria because of lessons we should have learned in:
I am uncertain as to what the decision to the above question should be...above my pay grade. We have no money for another war but do we just let people keep getting slaughtered?
NO NO NO!! There are no "good guys" in Syria for us to choose to help. And as Debbie points out we do not have the money to become involved in another wasted conflict. I say NO to sending any arms or implimenting a fly zone or anything else. It's time the USA stopps being to worlds police and paying for it with lives and dollars.
Better question: Since the rebels in Syria are supposedly known collaborators with Al Queda, under the terms of his NDAA, shouldn't Barack Obama be held indefinitely without charges or trial in Guantanamo Bay?
I believe the last poll question involving Syria asked us if we should get involved.... It was overwhelmingly No. So besides the excellent points brought up here. Wouldn't sending weapons to one side or the other be defined as involvement? That would make this a redunant question wouldnt it?
No weapons should be sent to the rebels. They are acting like our friends only because they want our help. Besides, if a right wing group started a war in this country would we want the Chinese or Russians to help them?
The timing of this is a little to perfect in my opinion. It make a great headline to overtake things like the IRS scandals, and the CIA/NSA spying on American citizens on a daily basis.
After the dust settles are we going to go there and put plugs in all their guns so they can only load 7 bullets at a time? It's amazing how our fearless leaders arm the world while disarming America.
Yet again the view of the people is disregarded.....Obama plans on sending arms that we the people paid for, an arm another group of people in another country....Here we go again sticking our nose where it don't belong..He won't as Bob put it ,arm us, but will arm a bunch of people in another county...Go Figure..
