A person in a blue pickup truck was seen on Jericho Road, Bergen, smashing mailboxes.
The caller attempted to follow the truck, but it took off at a high rate of speed and the caller was not going to attempt to keep up with it.
It was last seen on Creamery Road.

This story reminds me of the episode on Spike TV the series A 1000 Ways to Die. It seems a couple of rural fellows were having a grand old time busting mail boxes with a baseball bat. The driver got a little to close to one and his buddy suddenly became very quiet. You see he was hanging out the window of the truck with the baseball bat. Well his friend pulled him back into the truck and it became very obvious why he was quiet......he was missing his head. Macabre yes, but country justice in a strange way.

I see them and I call the police, spent enough on mailboxes the past winters from snowplows knocking them down and destroying them, don't need some clown doing it on purpose!!!! Thanks for the heads up!!!

I just cant wrap my head around why someone would do this type of thing.
I wonder what would happen to
I wonder what would happen to the law breaker if he came in contact with a mailbox with a big rock in it?
My brother had his mailbox
My brother had his mailbox resting on a pedestal made of 4" PVC pipe. After getting it run down or knocked down a few times, he rebuilt the pedestal filling the pipe with concrete.
Next time somebody tried to knock it down, they either had a very sore wrist, or scraped up bumper - it was still standing - the PVC was cracked, but the mailbox was still there. That was the last time they went into his culdesac (if it was a through-street, he might have been liable for him to put up such an unforgiving structure so close to traffic).
