A prominent Rochester attorney and a former reality TV personality are in the national news today after they were arrested in Pembroke on Tuesday morning.
James Doyle, 54, of Rochester is accused of DWI, refusing a breath test, providing alcohol to a person under age 21 and patronizing a prostitute.
Alicia Guastaferro, 20, of Williamsville, is charged with criminal Impersonation, criminal possession of a controlled substance and prostitution.
At age 16, Guastaferro appeared in the reality TV series "Wife Swap," a series on the Lifetime Network that involves unhappy spouses switching families for a week.
In the episode Guastaferro appeared in, viewers learned the teenage beauty queen received a Christmas present from her parents every single day.
Doyle has made several statements to the media, including WHAM 13, denying all of the charges. He described Guastaferro as a family friend.
Well this one will certainly

Alicia Guastaferro is suing
Alicia Guastaferro is suing ABC to the sum of $100 million because Wife Swap ruined her life by staging scenes to make her look like a spoiled brat. I wonder if becoming a call-girl ruined her life more than Wife Swap. Maybe that issue should be evaluated when the judge presiding over the lawsuit finds out about this arrest.
Get a job, Alicia! Oh wait...you did get a job...never mind.....

Wow, no one seems to have
Wow, no one seems to have read the story linked to in the article.
This has nothing to do with 'Lot Lizards' or Street walking, read this excerpt from the article
>>>Doyle was given "several field sobriety tests" and later refused a breathalyzer test in the field thus triggering his arrest for misdemeanor DWI. He was also charged with traffic violations including not using a turn signal, not wearing a seat belt, and unsafely changing lanes.
The woman was later identified as Alicia Guastaferro, 20, but the trooper states that she first gave the name "Brittany Myers" and said that she was 23 years-old. The trooper states he was handed a driver's license for Brittany Myers and that Guastaferro later admitted it wasn't her and was read Miranda warnings.
After that the trooper states that Guastaferro had in her purse a pink mint tin "containing several small zip loc bag with pills, identified as controlled substances."
Guastaferro was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree.
Guastaferro also reportedly told the trooper that she "met Jimmy Doyle two years ago" where she bartended in Niagara Falls and that earlier on Sunday night they were "at Carrabbas, he (Doyle) bought me dinner and drinks, I had 3 Pomegranate martinis."
"Who gave you the ID?" the trooper asked Guastaferro.
"Jimmy Doyle gave it to me so I can get drinks and be in the casino with him," she answered.
Doyle was subsequently charged with Unlawfully Dealing with a Child 1st Degree.
Prostitution Charges Filed
During the questioning of Guastaferro the trooper asked, "Come on Alicia, what else does he (Doyle) pay you?"
Court papers state they she was crying when she responded, "He gives me 500 to 700 to spend the night."
"500 to 700 a night? To consumate?" the trooper then asked.
"I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean?" she responded.
"For sexual favors?" the trooper asked again.
"Ya, we have sex. 500 to 700 dollars he gives me," Guastaferro allegedly responded before being asked how often this happens.
"He calls me about 2 times a month and we have sex for 500 to 700," she replied.
"This was agree(ment) tonight?" the trooper then asked according to court papers.
"Yes," she reportedly replied. "He pays me in the morning."
Guastaferro was subsequently charged with Prostitution and Doyle was charged with Patronizing a Prostitute 3rd Degree.
The trooper's report also states that Guastaferro "began to suffer from an apparent seizure" while at the NYSP Buffalo barracks for processing and she was taken to the hospital for medical treatment.<<<
This is about a Scum Bucket and a Goldigger young woman who's l;ife was ruined because her parents sought noteriaty on a reality show.

I didn't include this in the post because I'm not sure how relevant it is, but a Brittany Myers arrested in Genesee County in 2008 would be about 23 today. Coincidence?

Dave this Lawyer has been in the news before, remember the now jailed police chief in Greece? This was the guy that got a DWI and called the Police Chief to pick him up to avoid the ticket.
This guy is a scum bag, my opinion and I am sticking to it
Would be interesting if we
Would be interesting if we could find out who the attorney for that Brittany Meyer was,,,
I do not know David, Mark is
I do not know David, Mark is right to state Scum Bag. We are talking about a Lawyer. Yes, I know, all lawyers are not scum bags but, lets face it. There is alot of them out there. In Doyle case, I would classify him as a scum bag. Unfortunately he is a lawyer and will probably find a loop hole to get out of this jam. BTW, does he have a wife?
Agree, then if he was the

Let's not be too harsh on Mr Doyle, he's just polishing up his political resume. Good chance someday you'll be voting for him because he's the lesser of the two evils on the ballot. He appears to have most of the important qualifications for Congress nailed down already.

go ahead and call me a scumbag, call me a lawyer, call me whatever you wish, from the picture in #5 above,i'd gather her 700 dollars for the evening and i won't be driving a car.
to all you lawyer haters....
to all you lawyer haters.... if you ever get arrested, the only thing you should say is "i need a lawyer"...
to all you lawyer haters....a lawyer is the only person you can trust if you get arrested...
to all you lawyer haters....if you become part of a "police" investigation, don't say anything except "i need a lawyer"
to all you lawyer haters.....i dare you to defend yourself in a legal matter..
you see without legal council of your own, your ass will belong to the other lawyer, the lawyer who works for the state, the district attorney.
you see without a lawyer, the police will have you admitting to whatever it is you are accused of.
all it takes is for one cop to have the"gut feeling"and you are facing a nightmare of legal problems or the cop just might feel you are a scumbag and the nightmare is on.
Mr. Woodworth, What does SAFR
Mr. Woodworth,
What does SAFR title stand for? And is he part of the 914th?
First off Mr. Spaulding I am
First off Mr. Spaulding I am in no way a Lawyer hater, I have 5 attorney's in my family.
Secondly, if you have read the entire WHAM story you will have to admitt that there is much more to this issue.
Thirdly, I used the term scum bucket for several reasons. I still stand by it This individual has a history of using his stature to skirt the law. A documented history at that. Attorney or not, it put's him in the scum bucket category by me.
Finally, your comment about two consulting adults, and not causing anyone harm. The trucker who called in cited much more than forgeting a turn signal, there were also multiple calls to the Thruway about a irradict driver, that my friend is dangerous to all, this attorney has already been convicted once of DUI, has been cited for inappropriately contacting a Police Chief in an effort to hide the charge.
According to both him and the young lady, he met her in a bar, befriended her parents and then alledgedly this 54 year old man offered a young women $500-$700 a night for sex 2x or so a month.
That combined with a bogus $100mil lawsuit to a so called reality show makes her a gold digger, and him for essentially paying a young women that could be his daugthers age makes him a scum bucket, not because he is an attorney, but because he is a 54 year old officer of the court engaging in an act, whether you agree with it or not, that is clearly against the law, bith Driving While Intoxicated and promoting prositution.
Oh, and let's not forget that this officer of the court gave the young lady the false ID she presented the Troopers.. Real upstanding guy.
We had a saying in the Marine Corps, 10% of every bushel of apples goes bad, Clearly this guy isn't part of the 90%
LOL Mark dont forget the
LOL Mark dont forget the other apple saying either. "One bad apple can ruin the whole basket" I'm sure that Mr. Spaulding would have a different viewpoint if that was his daughter that Mr. Doyle was wining, dining and doing for $700 a night.
How about "the apple doesn't
How about "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree":

Good Catch JoAnne, I think I can safely add a Scum Bucket designation there too!
They are both crying
They are both crying "victim?" Misunderstood? Please... Actions speak louder than words. They got themselves into this whole mess.... LOL They should be big people, fess up, work on their short-comings, and move on.

The only thing you can trust
The only thing you can trust a lawyer for is taking all your cash. If, you have not notice but, a Lawyer is running this country into the ground while screwing everyone but, himself. Lawyer+Politics=Dirty Politician!
The only way you will face a nightmare of a legal problem, is by letting it happen. Today you can look up any court case. My best friend was charged with DWI. The cop felt he had him dead to rights. My buddy defended himself and got off with just the court fine. Since, the officer did not witness my buddy driving and his wife and daughter were there (even though there was another vehicle present) and had not been drinking. My buddy was able to provide doubt.
Not all cases need a lawyer. Lawyers are truly in it for themselves. Case in point. My 2006 motorcycle accident, several lawyers received news about my MC accident and told me I had a great case and I would win. However, they left out the fact that, I would win the case but, would not see a cent. 1/3 goes to the lawyer and the rest went to my HMO to offset the 300K cost for my medical care. A law that, I did not know existed but, the lawyer did. Shame on me for not researching. So, people can do better justice for themselves by becoming more aware of their rights and understanding the laws.
Let your fingers do the walking and research, research, research! Articulate yourself properly and you will succeed!
Mr. Woodworth, That's just
Mr. Woodworth,
That's just bull.
Sure there are lawyers who are "ambulance chasers". There are good and bad in all jobs.
But I know many who work on just real estate, or family law, do wills, power of attorney, etc. Some are JAGs, some work for charities. There are lawyers who protect reservists from being fired from their jobs for serving their country.
It would be like saying all DOD cops are just gate guards sleeping on duty or drinking coffee in a guard house.
John from my entry #12, "Yes,
John from my entry #12, "Yes, I know, all lawyers are not scum bags but, lets face it. There is alot of them out there."
I just made an example that you DO NOT always need a lawyer to defend you.
BTW, DOD Police do conducted entry control, sleeping on duty may have been accepted back in your day sir but, times have changed. Strict policies and instead of sitting in vehicle like you did back in the day is no longer the case. Anti-terrorism measures, building checks, traffic enforcement, incident responses such as 911 calls, fire alarms, theft, domestic disturbances, illegal weapons, etc...... Heck, not only do they drink coffee but, tea, energy drinks, water, soda at the Entry Control Point (AKA. Guard House).
John, I am sorry but, you comparing your work days with mine are just like comparing todays law enforcement with the Marshalls of the Wild West.
John W., That was the point,
John W.,
That was the point, there are good and bad in every job and occupation. And while it was in the 70's when I worked there, with the nukes there was no sleeping, no goofing off and you better be on your A game. And I am not comparing USAF Security Police to a DOD cop, just pointing out that you should not make a blanket statement like you did in #29.
Thank you John (Roach). I've
Thank you John (Roach). I've worked with dozens of lawyers over the years and have really only come across a few with questionable ethics. Most are extremely hard working, honest people and very few even do personal injury. And John Woodworth, where do you get the information that your HMO would be paid back from any settlement? If your injury was motor vehicle related, your motor vehicle insurance was responsible for your medical expenses, not your HMO - at least in NY.
Hello John, it really is not
Hello John, it really is not a blanket statement. When you come down to it, lawyers take your money. Very few chariable lawyers out there, usually ones that are helping out a friend or family member. So, where is the blanket statement? I did not state you were comparing SP to DOD Police. I stated, do not compare yesterday's law enforcement policies and procedures with today's. BTW, I do know nukes as well. I was stationed at Malmstrom AFB, 12TH MSS (old 342ND MS). I miss that duty now. Everything was cut and dry with no gray areas. It suck that I needed to get a doctor's approval to just take aspirin. Usually took 30 minutes to hour to get approval.
John W., Lawyers don't "take"
John W.,
Lawyers don't "take" your money any more than a doctor or mechanic takes your money. You hire them. Your lawyer was hired by you. Now, maybe you did not hire the right one, but you did the hiring.
John (Woodworth) - do you
John (Woodworth) - do you have anything to back up your statement "Very few chariable lawyers out there, usually ones that are helping out a friend or family member"? Have you ever heard of pro bono work? Countless lawyers volunteer for legal aid societies, non-profits, churches, schools, etc. Law firms pretty much require all of their attorneys to provide a certain number of hours of pro bono work every year. Many lawyers right here in Genesee County help out with the Mock Trial Program and Oak Orchard Legal Services just to name a few.
No Beth K. but, what lawyers
No Beth K. but, what lawyers do John and you know that do their job for free to help out someone? usually it is a public defender or a low rate lawyer. I am not talking about charities like Children's Hospitals, Cancer Research, etc...... I am talking how many are willing to help you and not take a large sum of your earnings. I mean why cannot they charge $30 for every hour they work on your case? You are right John, everyone gets paid. John, let me ask you this question. What justifies the amount lawyers charge you? I mean why does a lawyer usually take a 1/3 of your lawsuit earnings or the hundreds of dollars an hour salary and the retainer fees which usually has an 3-4 digit cost? The individual can read books and knows how to be articulant. A doctor charges a lot to save a life and helps fight illnesses. However, a lawyer charges a lot, more than likely to paid off their high college/university tuitions. Why do police, ambulance paramedics and fire fighters earn less than most lawyers? Police are required to put their life on the line to protect and serve a thankless community, who seem to only like cops when they are in need of them. If, a police officer pulls you over for a traffic violation or stops you from committing a criminal act, they are an a--hole for doing their job. Beth and John, yes I know not all people hate cops but, not many cops get thanked by the community. Most comments about police officers on this blog seem to be negative and unfounded. I seen once in the past year on this blog a police officer praised for doing his job. A fire fighter risk their life to save life yet earn less than some lawyers. You do have big wigs in every profession that earn a large wage. I bet if you take an average salary of police, fire fighters
John W., You don't work for
John W.,
You don't work for free. And why do you think you should be paid as much as you get? For your country, you should take a pay cut or give some back.
You sound jealous. You didn't like the fees a lawyer charged you for an accident claim. Well, maybe you should have been smart enough to ask the fees and do your homework. Did you call the bar association to check? Sounds like you jumped at a solicitation, thinking you'd win big dollars like they hint at on TV.
Why do think I should get pay
Why do think I should get pay as much as I do? Well first of all I am paid less than I deserve. For my country? Really John that is D.A.S. Maybe I put my life on the line for the safety of the PEOPLE of this country. People like you and why I do not know? Not to mention I have three additional duties that have been dumped on me and no pay to go with it. I make less than a Staff Sergeant doing the same job.
John you really do not read statements do you? I stated all professions get paid. I already stated I was wrong for not checking things out for my case. So, why do you ask question that I have already answered and make statements that I have already concluded?
Let me guess that is probably why you voted for Obama. After all here is an individual no one question yet, question every other candidate. I remember the press was commenting on quotes during the 2008 campaign that McCain made and focus on topics such as Palin's wardrobe cost for the republicans’ national convention. Do you know people thought quotes that Obama made during the 2008 Presidential Campaign were made by McCain and did you know MRS Obama's wardrobe for the democrats’ national convention cost more than Palin’s? Probably not and why you may ask?
The media did not research Obama, the young generation of this country did not care who ran as long as the dreaded republicans did not win.
No one knew anything about Obama. His nationality a secret, date of birth a secret, his college application a secret. Yet, here Obama wants Romney make his taxes returns public. Is Obama serious? All politicians are financial set. That is how they are there. Oh BTW, he is a lawyer and a shaded one at that. He talks about the deficit that Bush put us in. He needs to look at his record. Has created almost as much deficit as Bush did in eight years. Why people want him for another 4 years, I will never know. He is for government control on all of us but, I guess the laziness of this society likes that idea. That way they are not responsible for themselves!
John W., Now why did you go
John W.,
Now why did you go and lie about me voting for Obama? And what has that got to do with you thinking that lawyers should not be able to ask for whatever rate of pay the market will bare? Nothing, unless you want to change the subject.
The point is you screwed up and now say lawyers are overpaid. Well, then maybe you are overpaid. And I don't think we would all be better off with John Woodworth setting what a person in private business should be paid.
John, as much as we hate
John, as much as we hate lawyers, they are your best bet in many areas of law, and if I'm not mistaken, the sitting judge has the final approval of a pro se defense.
Law has become so cumbersome, and complex, any research you do, may be from outdated sources. Defending ones self in the legal arena may be a good idea in traffic court, but when
incarceration, or financial gain or loss are involved, you better go lawyer shopping.
Sorry John if you did not
Sorry John if you did not vote Obama. I assumed because, you are a big supporter of the Democrats and Obama. The last I knew you did not want to vote for Romney to get rid of Obama. You have dogged Bush and rightly so but, you fail to be upset with the Democrats and Obama for doing the same thing. After all Obama promised to pull us out of Iraq and Afghanistan and we are from Iraq for the most part. Afghanistan we carry on. Obama is not for the middle man. He is for destroying the essence of the United States of America. Our government has become self serving and screw the common man. Obama has used threats, bypass protocols to get his way.
I think we should get rid of political parties all together. I think we should down size government. Too many hands in the money pot. Welfare needs to be revamped. I believe welfare should be vouchers. Such as Shopper Cards for select stores. We all have seen welfare families buy tobacco products, alcohol products, expensive vehicle, clothes, furnisher, top of the line in every catagory. Depending on their desire depends on which one they abuse.
I was first making notice that you do not read my comments and just scan. Otherwise you would see that you are repeating the questions that I have already answer. Obama was threw in as a example that people do not always understand what they are reading. I accused you of party voting because, you speak highly of democrats and they are no different than everyone else. It amazes me that the democrats keep their blame game instead of getting to the point on how they are going to change things and how it will work for all of us. I am tired of Democrats whining about the Republicans and vice versa, on what they are doing wrong.
I am Democrat but, should change my party but, to what I am not certain. The minor parties seem to go too left or too right. So, instead I vote for I think can bring us to the America we once were before government became corrupted.
John I am curious, do you think a person who puts his life on the line for the protection of their country and brethren should earn less than lawyer? Really what does a lawyer give up to benefit society? Yes, they help out people who can pay them. However, if they cannot they get push to the public defender. Look at the case with that Amherst Doctor who killed that 18 years old girl. I mean really he was founded not guilty.
His lawyer provided doubt but, the doubt he created was the what if game. The doctor stated, he did not know what he hit." So, you are driving a Lexus and you are not going to check? You are going to keep driving, risking the fact something could be seriously wrong with your car? I drove a Ford Granada when I hit something and stopped to find out it was a dog that ran out of the corn field next to the road. A 1979 Ford that was made of steel not fiberglass and plastic. I saw that hood and could not believe that he did not see it. He should of notice it and even his wife should of. He should be charged at minimum involuntary manslaughter, along with DWI, unsafe driving and leaving the scene of an accident.
Hi Frank, That is what is
Hi Frank, That is what is great about today's technology. You can search for related subject manners and cases. Laws are always being updated but, they still get entered in to a database. Heck we have laws out there that are not being enforced but, are still on the books. Laws change with technology improvements they have to. I am not saying all lawyers are bad. ACLU a bunch of lawyers who protect bs causes such as "GOD being removed out of the Pledge of Alliance." They view it as a religious statement and not as history. The Colonist fled to America to worship as they felt. GOD is a general term in a sense, Allah= God, Budda= God etc........ Heck, the Supreme Court told a Alabama? or Mississippi? Judge to remove the Ten Commandments from his court because, it was view as religious statement and needed to separated from the State. However, go to the Supreme Court in DC and you will view the 10 Commandments throughout their court.
The secret for defending one's self is understanding the charges against one's self, reading and comprehending the law and its meaning. Reviewing past court decisions and evidence against you, articulate your defense and most of all, "PROVIDE DOUBT!"
John w., What are you
John w.,
What are you smoking. Where did you come up with I support Obama? And to say I do not criticize Obama for doing the same thing as Bush, is a lie. But Obama was not the subject.
Should you get paid as much as a lawyer, I could care less? You decided to work for the government and to let them set your pay, the same as all civil service. You trade that for the benefits and a reasonable assurance that your job is secure (not guaranteed). And that was not a bad decision. But now you cry that somebody else get more than you, who has to go get it on their own. If you want more money, go back to school at UB part time and become one. If You want more pay, go to a big city like Rochester to be a cop. Become a Correction Officer and try working at Attica. Compared to working at Attica, you have it very safe inside a big airbase.
Notice: You screwed up and got a bad deal. It seems that you thought you were going to score the big pay off in a lawsuit like some adds on TV lead you to believe. You didn't do your homework and check, now it's whine, whine!
