Police name suspects in recent residential burglaries

Two suspects have been taken into custody in connection with a pair overnight burglaries on Williams and Swan streets, according to Batavia PD.

Police are investigating whether the pair were involved in other recent residential burglaries.

On Tuesday, the alleged burglars entered occupied residences on Williams Street and Swan Street in the early morning hours.

Take into custody shortly after the first reported burglary, at 2:09 a.m., on Swan Street, was Kurt H. Hawkins Jr., 18, who has no permanent address. Hawkins was charged with burglary, 2nd.

Hawkins was located in the area of Williams and Ellicott streets shortly after a homeowner reportedly observed the suspect in his residence. Hawkins reportedly initially tried to flee from police and was taken into custody after a foot chase.

While police were investigating the Williams Street burglary, police received a report of a residential burglary in progress on Swan Street.

The alleged burglar fled the residence and could not be immediately located. Investigators indicate that evidence led them to Michael J. Hilton, 20, no permanent address.

Both Hawkins and Hilton were jailed without bail.

Both Hawkins and Hilton are suspected in other recent residential burglaries and additional charges may be pending.

It was my friends house on Swan St. Scarey to wake up to a stranger in your bedroom! Hopefully Hilton will be in jail for a little LONGER this time.

Here is a wild idea, hook them up with very sub minimum wage jobs for a year with lockdown after work. After the time is up let them use their newly aquired skills to get a job on the outside but keep them locked up until they do. Then gradually release them back into society for minimal cost. If they go back to their old ways it is State Prison bound. All it takes is JOBS. Are they too old for JOB CORPS, does it even still exist?

That's right George, lets put two more outstanding citizens into another tax-payor program. Afterall, the success is already so high with all the previous programs, we should add more to the roles of "Social Justice". I keep reading and hearing all the Liberal pundits complain about how our jails and prisons seem to be one sided regarding the race of the inhabitants, but lets look at the first two stories listed today? If you do the crime, do the time. Nothing else matters, and these programs have done little to reduce the problem, except for the cost we all end up paying.

I think George is on to something. These two would make great Corporation Managers or Politicians with the right mentoring. They have the experience at robbing people right under their noses and still get away with most of it.

I would hire them to make Golumpki and Keilbasa to sell on Main Street in Batavia because 1 (one) I believe in social justice. 2 (two) I believe in Golumpki and Keilbasa. (3) three, I believe in my Polish heritage and all of the other heritages in Batavia, past and present. (4) four, I want some Golumpkli and Keilbasa and I want it now. Howard, you can make it happen. If you can't, just ask Billie because I know she can.

Really, seriously these dudes should beg to get into Job Corps. These are the Future Men of America that Lyndon Johnson put his ass on the line for and what did it get him? He was the very best one term President in the history of the World, bar none. And please shut up about my hero Barack Hussein Obama, President of the United Sane States of America, I hope we are still in the majority, he is doing the best he can against evil.
