Overheard on the scanner...
Here's a stumper. Question put to who knows whom over the scanner a few minutes ago: "What's so wonderful about a bunch of noodles?"
The context of this provocative question is unknown and no answers were given.
Speaking strictly for myself, the wonderful thing about noodles is they are useful for thinking. If "you're off your noodle" then, presumably your thinking is screwy. If you have plenty of noodles, like Einstein, then you are considered smart.
If you are short on money and
If you are short on money and hungry there is nothing better to fill you up than noodles !

True. I had a poor friend who practically lived on Top Ramen.
I used to babysit a friend of
I used to babysit a friend of mines kid. Every day for lunch I would ask him what he wanted and he would reply: "Raymond's Noodle Soup". LOL. I am sure there are a lot of Nissan Top Ramen being consumed at the College dorms !
Yeah, I like Top Raymond too.
Yeah, I like Top Raymond too. But if I fell into a lake or creek, and couldn't swim, I would think a whole bunch of noodles were mighty fine. Or, if I had a can of Tuna Fish and a couple of cans of generic Mushroom Soup a bunch of wide noodles would hit the caboodle in a casserole. Does anyone actually cook at home anymore? Don't lie Billie, can you boil water?
I think they were talking
I think they were talking about Pho. It's not the noodles, it's the broth. It's like saying what's so great about boiled cow intestines? On the surface you would say nothing, but like Pho it's about the broth. In both cases you eventually appreciate the noodles and boiled cow intestines equally. Menudo is more than an outdated Mexican Boy Band, Pho Sho.
Not only can I boil water, I
Not only can I boil water, I can make: tamale pie, tuna-noodle casserole, cole slaw, spaghetti, beef stew, corn bread, King Ranch chicken enchilada casserole, tacos, meat loaf, BBQ pork ribs, broccoli/raisin/bacon salad, Southern chocolate sheet cake with boiled fudge frosting, and a few other things. Not very sophisticated, I know, but I'm still learning!

Can you cook File Gumbo? If
Can you cook File Gumbo? If you follow a very time consuming recipe from the Food Network, you can. It's very impressive at Pot Luck Dinners because everyone who eats it are the lucky ones. I like that King Ranch Stuff alot too, it used to be on the menu everywhere but you hardly see it anymore now that "Dallas" went off the air twenty years ago. Get a food trailer and become famous. Maybe there could be a Spike TV series called: "The Batavian" starring internet news expert Howard Owens and Chef Billie. I'd watch it.
I love this show: http://www.spike.com/full-episodes/9pjca2/bar-rescue-fallen-angels-seas…

Right on Jason! As most readers probably already know, this is the very kind of drivel I will post if given half a chance. I will be flogged of course, which makes it all the more naughty fun.
I believe the conversation
I believe the conversation concerned ''a bunch of poodles.' The Gabor sisters were visiting a Hungarian relative housed at the federal clink and left their entourage in the limo.

Methinks you are pulling my leg, C.M., or as they say in Mexico, you are taking my wig off (in Spanish of course). I remember when that sassy Zsa Zsa slapped an LAPD officer who pulled her over on a traffic stop. Don't mess with the Gabors, dahlingk.
