This sounds about right. How many admin tasks are duplicated? Are we talking basic HR stuff like payroll/benefits jobs or do you want to take this all the way to creating assistant principal positions in lieu of having a principal in each school? I'd listen to just about anything after the spending scuffles we've had in recent months.
There is no reason an administrator in our county should make over $230,000.(Mix- Pembroke) It would be in the districts best interests to consolidate these administers. Multiple districts should work with one central office. There is money available to get this started with Genesee Valley BOCES. By eliminating a lot of the "pork fat" from public ed, we can put tax dollars into academic programs and extracurricular activities that actually have a direct impact on our kids. Many of the teaching positions that have been eliminated could be restored. 35 kids per class does not sound like its going to be good for any kid. We need to invest in our children, not administers. I don't mind a reasonable tax increase when I know my money is being spent on my kids and their peers. However, I am outraged when I hear about salaries paid in a single year that total more than I would make in 5 years.
One school district is all that is needed for Genesee County. I would agree that different high schools should keep their identities....but there is no need for that many districts in a county our size.
Then if we are talking about whole county consolidation I voted yes. I can't disagree with any of the comments so far, the time for mass consolidation is here. I do think every effort has to made though as Daniel said to help each school maintain it's identity.
Let's eliminate some of these
Let's eliminate some of these high end administrative positions, salaries, benefits etc. and put the money to use on the kids!

I voted yes but only if it cuts jobs..If it keeps the same amount of administrative positions, salaries, benefits then it would make no sense...
