If all the candidates are
If all the candidates are going to do is sling mud and worry about what the next one is "not" doing ... what makes me think they're going to put any more effort into doing the job they'd like to be voted into?

There is one ad from the DCCC, the rest are from the Corwin Campaign, Davis Campaign, Karl Rove's Super PAC and the one from Ian.
Call me biased (and I know some will), but Kathy has stayed above the fray. She has addressed issues. The tripe about her and Pelosi is exactly that. She has not had Pelosi come to NY26 to stump for her. There is a trail of breadcrumbs from DC to Buffalo dropped by GOP heavyweights, including the Speaker of the House, to shore up Corwin's candidacy.
Kathy was asked about Pelosi, she answered that she thought Pelosi did a good job, then went on to discuss the issue at hand. The sound bite, by the GOP, is the polite answer and they built an entire smear campaign against her.
Kathy hasn't sent goons out to harass Davis. She didn't start her campaign with a series of negative ads. She went out and met the people. Her appearances, both planned and impromptu in Genesee County, are far more than any of the other candidates.
It is easy to lump them all together and throw up your hands in frustration. I know that. But, take the time to really think about those who are making you frustrated and the ONE person who is making the effort to understand the concerns of NY26 and will work for everyone in that district.
Bea - you are right. There
Bea - you are right. There is a clear distinction between Kathy and the others. But the others are counting on the public to think of ALL of the candidates as the same sleaze-hurlers, and to stay home in disgust.
Bea do you really, honestly
Bea do you really, honestly think that Kathy Hochul is going to work for the district when all that money was sent her way? Hochul and Corwin are bought and paid for. The only difference between those two are their campaign managers. One went for the mud right away and the other didn't. The end result for us is going to look the same with either.
If elected, Kathy Hochul will
If elected, Kathy Hochul will work for everyone in the district for 18 months and then she'll no longer have a district to represent. After that she will have to hope whoever was keeping her Erie County Clerk's chair warm will step aside so she can have her old job back. It's either that or use her leverage regarding "buried bodies" and convince Brian Higgins or Louise Slaughter to "retire" so she can have that district.
More likely that another
More likely that another district would disappear if Hochul wins, probably Burkle's. Since the district to be erased would almost certainly be a Republican one.

Looking at the map Kevin
Looking at the map Kevin refers to, it's pretty easy to see the 26, 27, 28 and 29th districts being re-formed into 3. No matter who wins. So vote for Ian, it'll be an entertaining 18 months.
