A car has hit a tree in the area of 9546 Creek Road in Bethany. There are believed to be minor injuries. There was air bag deployment.
Bethany Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding.
The location is across from Old Creek and Putnam roads.
UPDATE 12:05 p.m.: There is debris all over the roadway. Fire police are shutting the road to traffic.
UPDATE 12:49 p.m.: The driver was transported to UMMC with minor injuries. They are cleaning up the roadway.
UPDATE 1:14 p.m.: The roadway is being reopened to traffic.

If the Sheriff's Office investigated the accident, they will most likely put out an accident report, which we'll will post about once received.
If the State Police investigated, no report will be released and we'll have no further information.
If the Sheriff's Office doesn't release the report, we'll have no further information.
If the Sheriff's Office puts out a report, it may not contain all the details you request.

One other note: Actually, yes, names of drivers, or possible drivers, are sometimes transmitted between dispatch and responders, but we never report names that come over the air because next-of-kin have not been notified -- even in a minor injury accident, we don't publish names until officially released by law enforcement.

You're right, names do occasionally get transmitted over the scanner. Kinda like the day I left my house to go to Batavia, and 10 minutes later my mom hears my name over the scanner...being pulled over for loud exhaust! Oops!
