Today's Poll: How interested are you in Prince William's wedding?

OK, I know there are a whole lot more important issues to be concerned about, but a British royal wedding is special and full of pomp and circumstance. I'm not really an Anglophile, but I am eagerly awaiting the Big Day and have my TV programmed for all the coverage, including before and after. I can't believe more people aren't at least mildly interested in this occasion. It's a gaudy diversion of the heavy burdens of the real world, it shows how much the monarchy can blow in one day, and it is a modern fairy tale, except of course, for the case of poor Diana. It will be a solitary day for me, since Howard is one of those people who would rather have the flu than be subjected to the royals' goings on.

I'm going to watch the wedding because I watched his parents marry. I was eleven years old then and remember it like it was yesterday. Other then that, I don't pay attention to everything that's shown or printed about them.

Billie,
I am with Howard, except it's not the flu, I think I'll go to UMMC and get me some C-Diff, it'll be better than watching these pompous A-Holes!!!!!

Hi Billie,
I'll come over and bring breakfast! The coverage really starts at 4am :) - I think this will mark a major change in the way the Royal Family operates, It'll be interesting to see the differences between Prince Charles's wedding and Prince William's - And I think Kate Middleton is hot, so that helps.

Dr. Guillotin's national razor would ramp up the spectacle for the stagnant gene-pool residing in Buckingham Palace. ...Tastefully executed, of course.

Kate is a commoner, so that may add to the gene pool viability of the British royal family. She is hot, but so was Diana, just in a different way. Diana was tall and glamorous, and had a lot of charisma. Kate is petite and sexy-cute, and I think more pragmatic. She only spent $350 for a blouse, a dress, a halter dress and a short jumper to take on her honeymoon. At about $87 per piece, that's chump change for people in her crowd.

I, too, saw TV coverage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles, they looked like they were not a good fit, and they weren't. I remember the interview announcing their engagement and him responding to a question saying something like "we're in love -- whatever that means."

I thought that was weird. She had "issues" and he never stopped lusting after Camilla, whom Diana called "the rottweiler." After that whole mess, I hope the Queen can pass over Charles and put William and Kate on the throne.
