Arresting people doesn't combat DWI it punishes it. Everyone knows the law, and they do it anyway. So affectively he has done nothing to "combat" it. Combating DWI would do something to prevent it from happening in the first place.

And no I'm not saying people should be allowed to drive drunk although I think hysteria has overtaken the general mindset on the crime. This should be an award for Punishing people for breaking the law...which is his job...so congratulations for doing what you are paid to do.

WOW!! Did you happen to be on the receiving end of this??
We should be thankful that he is doing what he can to protect people. So many people don't do there job that they are paid great money for look at your goverment. Hopefully Jason can help your family some day when they are in need.

Janet,
No I never have gotten a DWI. Nor a ticket from Jason.

And I appreciate the work of cops who are there to protect us from violence, threats, and theives. But traffic cops are nothing but a money maker for the state/county/town they nail people in. I wish I got recognition for how many units I test and send out the door at work, oh wait I do its my paycheck.

DWI kills people and if is was not for officers like Jason, deaths would continue to rise in your county. So congrats to Jason for doing his job and the job of other officers who could be doing a better job on getting these people off of our streets. Apparently Jason takes his job serious.

Jason is one of 17 local law enforcement officers recognized statewide for outstanding achievements in deterring drunk/impaired driving. During 2009, so at least we know there are sixteen other officers who are also doing their job in our fine state...
