Many of my friends know that i really like the Batavian, and that i check it quite often, so late this morning one of my friends texts me and tells me that Howard Owens was on The brother weese show. I personally cannot stand the guy (weese, not my friend...LOL) so i never would have known about this. Why didnt you let us know on the front page that you were going to be on the show Howard? What did you talk about? I assume you plugged the heck out of the batavian?

Tim, not much plugging, and no advance notice. They called and asked me to talk about the alleged adultery case. Pretty straight forward. I did correct Brother Weese, whom I have no knowledge of at all, but I hear he's a pretty big deal, about calling The Batavian a "newspaper."

It's "Wease", not weese. You hear correctly though. He is a pretty big deal in Radio Broadcasting and the media in general. His ratings aren't as big now as they were in his hayday but he is an icon in the Rochester/Buffalo Area. Stephanie Miller and Opie of Opie & Anthony both got started their radio careers on the "Brother Wease Morning Circus".

Yeah Howard "wease" (thx for the spelling correction Kevin...lol) has been a "big deal" around here for a while. I remember when i finally bid farewell to the Batavia High School in "92" many of my fellow grads (not I) wanted "wease" to be our speaker. Luckily he did not speak and we instead got a very CLASSY man Mr. Terry Anderson (freed Iranian hostage, and Batavia native) to speak. I was honored.
