Paul Pontillo, of Pontillo's Pizza in Batavia, is accused of writing bad checks from a business account.
The alleged bad checks were written in 2008.
The 53-year-old Pontillo was arraigned in City of Batavia Court yesterday and released on his own recognizance.

Just another demise for the family, our community and everyone who loved to eat at Pontillo's. Hopefully it does not get worse. Will they ever reopen again?
You can always go to the one
You can always go to the one in Leroy to eat....no wonder I've been seeing Paul on his bicycle lately....it just isn't the same w/Batavia being closed.

With Main Street in town, I'm not going to drive out to Leroy to get a pie. I tried getting them delivered but I got one in 90 minutes once and it was cold.

I worked for pontillos in the years leading up to the closing and there were several instances of employees pay checks bouncing. Anyone know if this was the case or if they were personal checks
I went to the one in Leroy
I went to the one in Leroy once, 10 minutes to get drinks, 10 to put an order in 40 to get our food 30 to eat it, and another 15 to get the check, Food was cold, noodles were undercooked, terrible. I haven't been there since and i don't plan on going back.
I've only had Pontillo's from
I've only had Pontillo's from LeRoy once or twice since Batavia closed-both were takeout, and both were ok.I live 1/2 way between Batavia and Leroy,so it doesn't matter where I go.Usually it's either Main St. or Pauly's now-I just wish Main St. would have a the pizza, wings, and pop deals that the other places do.
Just another Batavia icon
Just another Batavia icon going "south" (so to speak) because the kids couldn't get along. I miss it alot, but once "dad" was gone so was everything else.

My brother did the same thing
My brother did the same thing to me.He passed some bad checks to Pontillos too before he left state so once I went in and sked Paul why MY pizza was deliverd burnt one time. He said because the name on the box was Marotta.I said so what does that mean? He then pulled out a bunch of bad checks that my criminal brother that I dont even talk to wrote. This enlightend me as to why i got a burnt pizza then I explained that my criminal brother and Ihad nothing to share but a last name and blood. So Paul replied isnt blood thicker than ketchup and I said no its not.I never recieved another burnt pizza again from Pontillos and Im not trying to rub it it but Paul is blood thicker than ketchup?
I HAVE TO RETRACT THE NAME IN
I HAVE TO RETRACT THE NAME IN THE ABOVE PARAGRAPH IT WAS SAM JR NOT PAUL THAT I TALKED TOO. SORRY
That raises some questions
That raises some questions from me about "burnt pizza". Got a few myself after Sam was not running things. Hmmm

Wow, what a stark contrast
Wow, what a stark contrast some of these LeRoy experiences are to mine. While Batavia was going downhill, LeRoy's was as good as from my childhood. And I can drive out to pick it up faster than I can drive across town to grocery shop at Tops. My dine in experiences have been the exact opposite of what was described. Rushed in, rushed out. South Beach didn't even rush me as much, as South Beach was notorious for yanking your plate away before you were done.
