Maybe someone just needed to borrow them, they might come back tommorrow. How about a Community Tool Shed where everyone in Batavia retires their worn out hand tools and someone who knows better makes them work again? Oil and sandpaper can make most of them perform like new. Remember the Tin Man? That's reality Sur, Sureality.
"The Tool Library" tm 2009, could work. I'll give up my rights to the name and this idea, to anyone who wants to actually make it happen. You will have lots of friends and fun. I wouldn't lie to you, Verdad!
I'm not so sure they were 'hard up'. People seem to steal just because they can, sometimes. In recent months, I have seen in the police blotter people stealing such things as DVDs, booze, perfume and other non-essential items. I think it goes along with the 'I'm entitled' mentality coupled with an underdeveloped conscience which are so prevalent today.
Howard? You could operate this out of your office. I need a Rake man, how many Shovels you got there? Gimme a Spade and Broom and I'll bring you a Lawnmower and Chipper/Grinder later, plus I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a Hamburger today. I like you Dude, for the things you do and the way you do them.
I don't know which is worse, people who don't feel guilt about anything, or people who feel guilt about everything. I'm leaning towards the latter because the former seem to disappear on their own. Nobody likes a scumbag thief, and people who can't love themselves have a hard time accepting love from others. I'm not sure how I know that, but I do.
I for one vote for the availability of a Community tool shed.. great idea. believe you me as we go forth with Care-A-Van we see great needs for simple things.
Yes again , some choose to live the way they do, but again there are many that are really down and out and could use community support in so many ways. We don't judge anyone, we believe behind every face there is a hurting soul in some way. We go forth to feed the hungry, not only physcal food, but spiritual food.
Thanks again to all of you who help us go forth and make a difference.
I believe out town needs their own shelter for the homeless. Families who lose their homes in fires, have to live with relatives. We all know how stressful that can be. A shlter would provide people a place to stay within the area, while they try to straighten out their lives again. The homeless need a place to sleep when the weather turns bad. We Genesee County give these people a bus pass to Rochester or Buffalo. I think these people/families have suffered enough, with out having to be shipped out of the county. Their children, still have to go to school. How does that work out if they are passed on to another county? My foundations goal is to raise enough money to get this project started> does anyone know about fund raising?
GOD BLESS
