I agree with Peter
As we can all see since Paterson became governor there was a ton of increases in taxes and those are just the ones that passed. We need conservatives to take this over so people can actually afford to live in NYS.

Other: Conservatives need to be incharge to reduce taxing and spending
You may be right. However, if the Conservatives do get in, I hope they aren't a reflection of your narrow focus and terminal distrust. I don't believe even a Conservative will drop all of the programs you detest so much.
There are no conservatives in government. The only thing they are interested in conserving is a grip on power and the many perks that come with it. They will pander to whoever it takes to keep them feeding at the trough. It is the dark side of human nature.

In NY I agree, but nationally there are some and though none are perfect, they are better than any liberal.
Bea, does that mean you are letting your freak flag fly?
Liberal is ten feet to the left of the highway, not the middle of the road. I'm liberal and I proudly wear tye dye and haven't had a haircut since one scary night four years ago when I decided to trim my ponytail and ended up shaving my head with a Bic razor. Go figure, I still don't know what happened but my co-workers loved it. Stress and Miller Beer are a deadly combination. I only drink good beer now and most of the stress is gone.
Since we all have the option of free choice, I'd prefer to be considered leaning toward a liberal ideology.
Live and let live. Do unto others, etc.
I prefer NOT judging others by their choice of political party; the faith; their color; or their education.
I wouldn't consider accusing someone of being a Communist, facist, or worse because they have views that differ from mine.
My personal choices, may not always follow a liberal line, for example, I'm pro life. That is a personal belief and not one that can be shaken. Those who seek abortion; those who perform them; and those who support it will be judged by a Power much higher than I, just as those who have taken the lives of those in the medical field and work in abortion clinics will be judged.
I support feeding the hungry and clothing those in need and I will do it with my head held high and not in fear of ridicule by those who have little compassion and a tight purse.
So I may not be in tie dye or have outward signs of my liberalism, but it's there.
The Bush administration, especially Karl Rove, made the label of Liberal to mean something to demonized. If 35% still believe in Rove then so be it.
That's what I'm talking about maam, you're an edge of the left hand side of the road liberal. That's plenty good, and all I can say about Karl is: why? Didn't your mama love you? I know she did, but I still don't know why. Peace, Love and Texas Swing.

I wonder how many of those
I wonder how many of those 48% would have been in favor of a divided government when the Republicans held power in Washington for 12 years?
A true conservative would
A true conservative would drop them all.
Want to see how government keeps people in poverty?
