Why not? The question is "should she run for president", not "would she make a good president". Look at what we have now. Sorry, I didn't mean to start a depression epidemic.
Howard, I think most of us knew she was lying about staying in the Senate like she said. But, that's why I voted no. Otherwise, I could care less if she runs, I think she will not last. In my opinion, she pissed off the Clinton wing of the party for her comments about Bill, and they will not forget it.
She shouldn't have run again if she had presidential aspirations. If she really wants it, she (along with any other member of congress) should resign. I bet that would whittle down the long list of candidates.
When she ran for the Senate, Kristine Gillibrand promised to serve her full term in office. Kristine’s promise expired as soon as she thought she had a shot to run for President.
I don't mind a long list of candidates. The eventual nominee should be battle-tested in the primary. I doubt HRC would have survived a crowded field in 2015/16.
Our President would reduce her, and any other (secular) progressives to tears in a NY minute!! PLUS,,, Crooked Hillary is STILL Mad at her! The libs/dems have no one!! WHO??? Upchuck, blinkie, pochohontas, betto? This will be better than a triple at The Bejou!!
Gillibrand did buck the VERY powerful israeli lobby as it tried and continues to try to usurp Americans 1st amendment rights. The BDS movement boycotts companies and entities that do business in the ILLEGAL israeli settlements. The lobbyists have applied very heavy pressure to make such boycotts illegal, and with extremely heavy fines and incarceration. And people think the Russians are screwing with our country. I'm certain that Gillibrand won't be able to make any headway in her quest for the presidency because bucking the Jewish lobby is the death knell for those seeking to curb their quest for absolute loyalty. Even if it means blocking Americans constitutional rights. Check here: https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/1/9/18172826/bds-law-israe…
I voted NO, only because she
I voted NO, only because she promised multiple times before last November's election she would serve her new full 6 year term.
What has she done for us

John,
John,
Even on a visit to Batavia
There is often speculation that Gillibrand is thinking about a run for president in 2020.
She said, "I'm focused entirely on 2018 and I really want to serve in the Senate. I feel privileged and honored to serve."

From what I'm reading a lot
From what I'm reading a lot of Democrats also haven't forgiven her for her response to the Sen. Al Franken allegations.

On name calling, we've always
On name calling, we've always made an exception for name-calling pointed at high-level politicians, such as senators, governors, presidents.
So, I suppose, if President Trump posted on The Batavian, it would only be fair to let him call people names to his heart content.
