Stretch your soul this Lent. If you are longing for the gift of inner peace, we invite you to experience the power of inner stillness through stretching the body and attending to the soul. Join us during the season of Lent for contemplative prayer through chair yoga and centering prayer. No previous experience necessary. The yoga will be very gentle, anyone with any level of ability can participate. Batavia First Presbyterian is located at 300 E. Main Street in Batavia.
An “Interfaith Witness for Peace” will take place on Thursday, March 3, 12:30 – 2:00 PM at Genesee Community College (Technology Building, Room T-119). Representatives from many of the different faith traditions found throughout Genesee County will share reflections, prayers, and a common yearning for peace. There will be no speeches, sermons, homilies or political activity. The event will include music, a brief video, and light refreshments. The program is free, and all are welcome.
Just a brief update to quite a battle so far. Martha has been in and out of ICU but right now is in ICU and is stable. She had to have surgery and that went well. Hopefully and with the grace of God, she is on the road to a full recovery. Thank you all for the contined love and prayers.
As an Oakfield Youth Group leader, I invite anyone that is interested in joining us for a morning of prayer on September 24th at 7:00 am at the flagpole at OACS. We have a time of quiet prayer for our school, our teachers, administrators and our kids in a circle around our flagpole at the high school. You dont have to be a Oakfield person to come and encourage our kids. It is very powerful to see teenagers in prayer together for all their friends to see. If you can't come to OACS, I encourage you to check at your local school and see if they are participating in the morning activity.
It is awesome to think that kids all over the nation gather at that time on that day to stand together in their faith.
