Artists can start at 9 a.m. and work until 5 p.m. Judging and awards will be presented immediately after and announced on stage!  Artists can enjoy food, drinks and entertainment from the Summer in the City festival.  

With every artist's registration, you will receive a goody bag consisting of a box of 24 chalks to get started, an event T-shirt from T-Shirts Etc., and a Snapple beverage from CH Wright!  

If you are an area artist and are a member of GO ART! or Batavia Society of Artists, your registration is discounted by 50 percent!   

This contest is raising money for future art events through GO ART!, and will help fund the youth art program at GO ART!, which helps bring art programs to children all around our county.

Free Mobile Food Pantry

First Presbyterian Church of Elba, 23 North Main St, Elba, NY is holding a free mobile food pantry on Wednesday, September 2 from 5 PM to 7 PM, or until food runs out.  Fresh produce, baked goods, packaged food will be provided by Foodlink of Rochester. The exact food items available are not known, but fresh produce will be available. There is no income verification required and no ID is necessary, but you must be 18 years old to pick up food from the pantry.  Please provide your own bags/cart/vehicle to transport items to your home.

Hog For Paws will be held on Saturday, Aug. 15, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stan’s Harley Davidson, Inc., 4425 W. Saile Drive in Batavia. Hogs for Paws is a fundraising and reunion event for our local Genesee County Animal Shelter.

Activities at the event: 

  • Microchipping for dogs and cats­ $30; Obedience Training with the K­9 Kahuna K­9 Demonstration; Face Painting;
  • Magic w/Joe; 50/50 Raffle; T­shirt sale Vendors Open Arms Rescue;
  • NEW this Year! 100-MILE RIDE -- $10 per person (includes lunch);
  • Kickstands up at 10 a.m.;

The Batavia Business Improvement District (BID) will once again host the 13th Annual Summer in the City Festival in Downtown Batavia on Saturday, Aug. 15th, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Last year, the event brought in more than 5,000 people from all over Western New York with over 200 classic cars. This year is expected to be even bigger and better.

Tournament to benefit the Crossroads House. The event will begin at 10:00 am at the Chestnut Hill Country Club, 1330 Broadway, Darien Center, NY. 14040.
