Weather: We've had our one sunny day, now, more snow

By Howard B. Owens

Did you enjoy the sun today? Good. Because you're not likely to see it for at least four or five days.

Snow returns tonight, with less of an inch of accumulation, and then another inch expected in the morning, with some bit of snow predicted for each of the next three days.

Temperatures will range from the low 20s at night to the low to mid 30s during the days.

Above: I wanted to play around with some low-light photography. Even so, I got a late start. I drove out toward Alexander on Route 98, turned right on Dodson and found this cemetery with a barn in the distance.

Weather: Light snow to continue through tomorrow

By Howard B. Owens

The Batavia area was blanketed by about an inch of snow over night, and snow will continue through the day, with very little accumulation.

But accumulation tonight should be another one or two inches. By Monday snow showers will turn to flurries.

Temperatures will be in the mid-20s range, with overnight lows dropping below 20 degrees.

Weather: Warming trend hitting town

By Howard B. Owens

Only in Western New York could people be excited about a warming trend that's going to lift the temperature to 30 degrees, but a "warming trend" starts Tuesday.

The high over the next four days is expected to range from 27 degrees to 31 degrees.

That's a big improvement over the minus-0 degrees we've had the past couple of days.

There is a chance of snow tomorrow afternoon and could be as much as one inch of accumulation Tuesday night and a chance of more snow on Wednesday.

But 30 degrees? Break out the short sleeve shirts!

Photo: Barn on Griswald Road, Stafford

My fascination with the old barns of Genesee County continues. This one is on Griswald Road near Route 33.

UPDATE: I changed out the picture. The more I looked at it, the less happy I was with the blue tinge of the previous photo.  I ran it through PhotoShop again and got a better color.

Also, a correction: The barn is in Stafford.

I remain fascinated by the old barns of Genesee County. Yesterday, coming back from the incident on Mullen Road, I spotted this one at Horseshoe Lake and Sanders roads in Stafford.
