Audrey J. (Brown) Fay

Audrey  J.  (Brown) Fay, 87, of Batavia, passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

Audrey was born October 9, 1933, in East Bethany, a daughter of the late Howard and Winifred (Carlson) Brown.

Audrey was a greeter at Walmart in Batavia, loved being with her family and was a New York Yankees and Miami Dolphins fan.

Surviving are her daughters, Lori (Raymond) Luzier of California, Patricia (Lawrence) Cassatt of Elba and Sandra (Robert) Tunningley of Henrietta; a sister, Marilyn (late Merlin) Kirch of Kansas; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  

Audrey is the wife of the late Richard Fay.

Services will be held at a later date in East Bethany Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Genesee County Senior Center, 2 Bank Street, Batavia, NY 14020.

Write-ins and absentee ballots delay Election Day celebrations in Genesee County

After what has been described as a “long hard” Election Day that began around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, Board of Elections workers can’t relax just yet, Genesee County Elections Commissioner Lorie Longhany said.

Frank Zielinski

Elba – Frank Zielinski, of Elba passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia following a brief illness. Mr. Zielinski was born in Elba, New York, a son of the late Stanley and Josephine (Swigula) Zielinski.

Frank retired from the United States Gypsum Co. in Oakfield, New York, as the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor. From there he drove school bus at Elba Central School. Frank was an athlete excelling in multiple sports in his youth, later coaching multiple teams including company softball and elementary basketball. He was always smiling and ready with a joke; he loved to make people laugh.

Frank is survived by his wife, Jane A. (Cole) Zielinski of Elba, a son, David (Pamela) Zielinski of Amsterdam, New York; a daughter, Terry (Charles) Hirsch of Elba; grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher, and Bethany Zielinski, Dillon, Dakota, and Dixie Hirsch; a great-grandchild, Cohen Olson; a brother, Bruno (Dorothy) Zielinski of Batavia; sisters Jennie (late Bill) Seager of Albion, and Helen (late Clarence) Klinkbeil of LeRoy. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

He is preceded in death by six siblings.

There will be no visitation. A private family service was held at the Elba United Methodist Church with Pastor Eric McHugh officiating. Burial will be in Daws Corners Cemetery in Batavia. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Elba Fire Department, PO Box 55, Elba, New York, 14058 or the Elba United Methodist Church, 8 Chapel Street, PO Box 56, Elba, New York, 14058.
