Last week, the Genesee Community College Board of Trustees unanimously approved a $38.70 million budget for the 2014-2015 academic year. The budget increases expenses by 1.65 percent over last year's $38.07 million budget.
The budget now moves to the Genesee County Legislature's Ways and Means Committee, which will
County Highway Superintendent Tim Hens sent over this picture from a roadway in Montgomery County (near Utica), saying, "it could have been worse" -- a comparison to the dramatic sinkhole incident in Byron last month.

This month's Reiki share at Blue Pearl Yoga in Batavia will be held via a Zoom meeting. This will be different from Reiki shares that we have in person.
Participants will need to be there at 12:30 p.m. and are asked to stay for the full time (1:30-ish).
There will be a short talk and then the actual share will start at approximately 12:45 p.m. This will give everyone a chance to enter and a little time in case anyone is having an issue getting on.
