Assemblyman Hawley holds outreach meeting at Old Courthouse, Batavia

Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R, I, C – Batavia) is hosting his regular monthly outreach meeting for Genesee County residents in Batavia on Thursday.

“The meeting will present the people of Western New York with a chance to become directly involved in improving the quality of life in our area by sharing their thoughts, concerns and ideas,” Hawley said. “I strongly encourage all local citizens to attend this event.”

It will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. April 14 in the Old Courthouse in the Legislative Conference Room, located at 7 Main St.

Sheriff's Office releases 2010 annual report

The past year was another busy one for the Genesee County Sheriff's Office, with members of the department handling 21,334 calls for service.

While the number of calls for service was down, the overall number of calls to the dispatch center was up, according to Sheriff Gary Maha.

Dozens of homeowners along Route 5 could get a public sewer system if the Town of Batavia receives Community Development Block Grant funds.
