A sad day in Bethany after passing of Supervisor Louis Gayton

People in Bethany are mourning tonight following the unexpected death of Town Supervisor Louis J. Gayton.

News of Gayton's death spread shortly after volunteer firefighters and medics were dispatched this morning to his home on a report of a 79-year-old unresponsive male.

Genesee County volunteer fire departments will open their doors to residents this weekend so they can learn about what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter. This is part of the fourth annual RecruitNY statewide initiative of the Firemen's Association of the State of New York (FASNY).

Anne A. Ingalls

LeRoy ~ Anne A. Ingalls, age 87, passed away Wednesday evening (April 2, 2014) in the loving presence of her family at Unity Hospital after a long battle with ovarian cancer.

     Mrs. Ingalls was born May 24, 1927 in Rochester, N.Y., a daughter of the late Oliver and Alice Burns Cooper Sr.

     She will be remembered as a loving person who cared deeply for her family.  She loved to watch her grandchildren participate in sports.  She had a passion to watch football and enjoyed many activities which included crafts, crocheting and painting.

     Mrs. Ingalls is survived by her daughters, Karen (Alfred) Parks of LeRoy and Alice Ingalls of LeRoy, her grandchildren, Sandy Parks of LeRoy, Stephanie Parks of LeRoy and Brian (Julie) Ingalls of E. Bethany, great-grandchildren, Jeffrey James and Bethani James of LeRoy and Haley Ingalls and Kyle Ingalls of E. Bethany, a brother, Oliver (Grace) Cooper Jr. of LeRoy, a sister, Betty (Connie) Snyder of LeRoy, a sister-in-law, Janice Cooper of LeRoy, along with many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her husband, Harley Ingalls, and her siblings, Harriett Huntley, Franklin Cooper, Stanley, Walter and John Unamen and a grandson, Brian Ingalls Jr.

     Family and friends may call on Saturday from 2 ~ 4 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road, LeRoy where her funeral service will be held at 4:00 P.M.  Reception will be held at the Stafford Fire Hall following the services. Interment will be in Machpelah Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Donald A. Dundon

Donald A. Dundon, 79 of Batavia, NY, died September 19, 2010 at United Memorial Medical Center. Born February 14, 1931 in Buffalo, New York son of the late Walter (Jeanette Leney) Dundon. Mr. Dundon was retired from the Niagara Mohawk where he worked for 39 years. He served eight years in the Army National Guard, was a member of Terry Hills Golf Course. He was an avid bowler. Mr. Dundon is preceded in death by his wife Joyce (Aubert) Dundon on November 10, 2002 & a son, Robert Dundon, Sr. in 2003.
 
 He is survived by his sons Kevin Dundon of Lancaster, Donald Dundon of Alden, William Dundon of Texas, a daughter Lynette Dundon of Georgia and a step son Rick Flowers of Bethany, NY. One sister Joyce Brown of Cheektowaga and a brother Raymond Dundon of Maryland survive along with 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 
 
There will be no prior calling hours. Friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Thursday, September 23rd at 1:00 p.m. at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main St., Batavia. Interment will take place in Grand View Cemetery.
