Dr. Gerace was a 1952 graduate of Batavia High School and earned both his B.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame. He held positions at Solvay Chemical in Syracuse, Xerox in Rochester, and Amoco in Chicago, earning 5 patents over the course of his career. He was a loved husband, father, and grandfather, who gave enthusiastically of his time volunteering for church, school, and numerous service organizations over his life.
Surviving is his beloved wife with whom he would have shared their 49th wedding anniversary on July 24, 2014, Jeanette (Mancuso) Gerace of Batavia; daughter, Maria (John) Hoffman of Tampa, FL and their children, Justin, James & Jacqueline Hoffman; son, Christopher (Jennifer) Gerace of Victor, NY and their children, Stephen & Anna Gerace; sister, Eileen Gerace of Canandaigua, NY; brother, Thomas (Jane) Gerace of Farmington, NY along with several niecesand nephews.

Mike was a veteran of the US Marine Corps where he served as an Arctic expert and loved the time spent traveling the world. He was the owner/operator of Franklin Street Electric for the past 23 years with much of his work in the Monroe county area being a subcontractor for Woodstone Custom Homes, Inc.
Many years ago The "Ooch" Family camping group was formed and over the years some of Mike's happiest and most memorable moments were spent on these trips. He enjoyed his neighbors on Franklin Street and was always there to lend a helping hand. Mike enjoyed bowling and golf and achieved the famed "hole-in-one", he loved his four legged companions and will be remembered as a generous, caring, giving man.
Mikes family was most important to him, he was the best uncle to his 18 nieces and nephews, his "first children" until his most heartfelt time when he and Deirdre made their adventurous journey to Russia to adopt Lidia & Dylan and complete their family. From that day on Mike was an incredible dad, he was an assistant scout leader for Dylan & Troop #6069, assistant coach for Lidia's softball team, "Batavia Angels" and was always there to cheer on his kids at hockey, baseball and soccer. He was so very proud of his family and the life that he and Deirdre built together and those memories will live on forever.

Oakfield - Roger S. "Duffy" Ingalsbe, 61, of Oakfield, passed away suddenly on Sunday, (June 29, 2014) at Unity Health System, in Rochester.
Mr. Ingalsbe was born February 25, 1953 in Batavia, a son of the late Otis J. and Viva (Kinne) Ingalsbe.
Duffy was a member of the Eagle Creek Yacht Club and greatly enjoyed fishing and boating. He loved spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Marianne (Thompson) Ingalsbe; a daughter, Tara (Fiancé Nolan Rubeun) Ingalsbe of Basom; a son, Ryan (Rachel) Ingalsbe of Camillus; a granddaughter, Estella Ingalsbe; and siblings, Michael (Arlene) Ingalsbe of El Mirage, AZ, and Dawn (Joe) Cassidy of Basom. Duffy is also survived by Jean DiCenso, Cheryl and Chrissy McDonald all of Oakfield; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering to celebrate Duffy’s life from 1 to 6 p.m. on Sunday (July 6, 2014) at the Alabama Fire Hall, 2230 Judge Road, Basom. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Burial will be held privately in Reed Cemetery, Oakfield.

Mrs. O'Geen was born September 22, 1919 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Anthony and Carmella Corrado Strollo.
She will be remembered as a very loving person, who was very active and full of energy. She enjoyed working around her yard, bingo and visiting with her family.
She is survived by her siblings, Rose Strollo of Batavia, Florence Macaluso of LeRoy, Albert Strollo of Batavia and Anthony (Jean) Strollo of Byron, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John O'Geen, and her siblings, Mary (Alfonso) Ficarella, Pauline (Joseph) O'Geen, Frances Miceli, Michael (Ann) Strollo and Alfred (Mary) Strollo.
Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 3 ~ 7 PM at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19), LeRoy. Her Rite of Christian Burial will be on Thursday at 10 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Joseph's Oratory, 27 Lake St., LeRoy, with interment to follow in St. Francis Cemetery.

JOSEPHINE N. BOYD - Age 88, of Batavia, died peacefully Saturday morning June 28, 2014 at her home. She was born August 30, 1925 in Batavia, NY to the late Sidney and Jane (McCarthy) Nevin also preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Warner, Phil Luttrell and Freda Gamble.
Mrs. Boyd was a telephone operator for the former NY Telephone and a member of the Telephone Pioneers, she enjoyed golf and playing cards.
Surviving is her beloved husband of over 50 years, James Boyd of Batavia; daughter, Deborah (William) Evans of Reno, NV; a granddaughter, several nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors past & present.

Brad worked as an Industrial Training Supervisor at Attica Correctional Facility and had 20 years with New York State Dept of Corrections. He was a man of many talents including maple syruping, bee keeping and woodworking. Brad was an avid outdoorsman that loved to hunt. He enjoyed traveling especially with his wife Colleen and he was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need of anything.
Bradley is survived by his beloved wife Colleen L. (Steves) Wolcott of Dale; daughter Jessica M. Wolcott of Pavilion; step-children Chad D. Klier of Lancaster and Kristie D. Kleir of FL; brothers Gregory D. of Caledonia; Timothy R. (Dawn) of Attica; sisters Christine M. McCulloch of Dale; Jennifer L. Crane of Bethany; two step-grandchildren Branden and Paige Rieser-Klier, father and mother in law Henry (Penny) Steves of Alexander, brothers and sisters in laws Henry (Sue) Steves of NC, Gary and Tammy (Steves) Bogardus of Attica, along with many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hardy was born February 12, 1924, a daughter of the late Lynn and Margaret Wood Sr.
She is survived by her children; Paul Hardy Sr. of LeRoy, John Hardy of Lockport and Anna Hutton of LeRoy, a brother, Lynn (Patti) Wood of Kent, 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, John "Jack" Hardy, a son, James Hardy and a daughter in law, Dianna Hardy.

Mr. Pomeroy spent all his life in Unadilla until he and his wife moved to the Village Green six months ago. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Colgate University in 1941 and was a member of the Commons Club and Phi Beta Kappa.
Carl was employed at Bendix in Sidney, NY for 41 years retiring in 1982 as Engineering Manager in charge of the Engineering Materials Lab. While at Bendix he belonged to the Society of Plastics Engineers, The American Society for Testing Materials and the Aerospace Committee of the Society of Automotive Engineers. He was the Bendix Corporate Gatekeeper responsible for expertise in Plastics and Elastomers for all Bendix Divisions.
He belonged to the Lewis H. Morgan Chapter of the New York State Archeological Association and the Eastern States Archeological Association, The Sidney Engineers Club and the Unadilla Chamber of Commerce. He was a Past President of Freedom Lodge #324 F & A.M., and a member of the Walter L. Hunt Chapter R.A.M.
He was a professional musician in the 40's belonging to the Musicians Union. He was a competitive bowler for over 40 years, belonging to a number of leagues in the Sidney Bowling Association. He was inducted into the Tri-County Bowling Hall of Fame in September 1992.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lona M. (Root) Pomeroy of LeRoy after sharing their 72nd wedding anniversary on May 14, 2014; daughters, Diane (William E.) Wormsley of Durham, NC and Laraine (William E.) Caton of Batavia; grandchildren, Edward J. (Paula) Caton of Stafford, Ellen C. (Adam) Brokaw of Batavia and Patai B. (Stephanie) Wormsley of Harrisburg, PA; great-grandchildren, Carson, Carly & Bailey.

Michael was a 1988 Batavia High School graduate. He was extremely proud of being elected Town Supervisor of Attica. He currently worked as a village employee, and previously for the Department of Works in Batavia. Michael just started riding motorcycles with the Patriot Guard Riders. He loved his nieces and nephews and enjoyed his friends, coffee shops, farming and camping. He was known for being easy going, helping others and always smiling. People that knew him would say that he was a jokester and there wasn’t a mean bone in his body.
Michael is survived by his wife Janet (Ahl) Smart of Attica, son Riley Malone of Batavia, mother-in-law Barbara Ahl of Attica, brother Douglas (Bernadette) Smart of Batavia, sisters Sue (Frank) Henry of TX; Janice (George Arnold) Smart of Batavia, sisters-in-law Deborah (Harold) Cratsley of Attica; Sandra (Gordon Biehl) Prusak of Attica, nieces and nephews Jennifer Sweet; Erica, Kayla, and Jessie Henry; Steven Cotter II; Jeremy Arnold; Douglas Smart Jr.; Brandon and Tyler Smart; James Prusak Jr.; Amanda Cratsley along with several great nieces and nephews.

Charles K. Thayer, 90, of Pembroke, a farmer all his life, died Wednesday (June 25, 2014) at United Memorial Medical Center.
Mr. Thayer was born in Perry Jan. 16, 1924. He was a son of Herman Thayer and Stella Safford Thayer Schiller and a stepson of Daniel Schiller. A graduate of Perry Central School, he worked in the Perry Knitting Mill and on various farms until 1959, when he bought his own dairy farm, Gra-Chuck Farm, in Pembroke. He also drove school bus for Pembroke Central School in the 1960s. He lived a simple life, and was known as a hard worker who took care of his family and farm. He had a great sense of humor and knew how to tell a good story. He also enjoyed woodworking.
He and his wife, Grace Snyder Thayer of Pembroke, celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary Feb. 9.
Mr. Thayer was the brother of the late Ellis and LaVerne Thayer and Edith Bathrick, and stepbrother of the late Perry Schiller.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, Sharon (late Kenneth) Larsen of Pembroke, Douglas (Shirley) Thayer of Watkins Glen, Daniel (Tracy) Thayer of Pembroke and Melody (Thomas) Gorman of Kirkville. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Jennifer (Thomas Thrane) Larsen Fuller of Schuylerville, Charles Larsen of Oakfield, Nicholas Thayer of Watkins Glen; Sarah, Danielle and Zoe Thayer, all of Pembroke; Cassandra, Patrick and Michael Gorman, all of Kirkville; Christine Gorman of East Syracuse; and Jennifer (John) Draper of Oakfield; and five great-grandchildren, Noel and Julian Thayer-Sunseri of Pembroke, Iliana and Camden Draper of Oakfield and Ryan Gardner of East Syracuse. A sister, Joan Nevinger of Florida, and many nieces and nephews also survive.

CLYDE WILLIAM DICKES – Age 78, lifelong resident of Elba, died peacefully Sunday morning June 22, 2014 in Topsail Island, NC. He was born October 24, 1935 in Batavia, NY, a son of the late Edward & Marian (Hoy) Dickes, also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mildred (Seibert); siblings, Richard, Gary and Elaine Kaufman, Francis Hoy.
Mr. Dickes retired from Birdseye Foods in Brockport in 1999. He enjoyed woodworking, traveling and was an avid golfer
Surviving is his companion, Sandy Wills of Elba; son, Patrick (Cheryl Mcrae) Dickes of Manlius, NY; daughters, Vicki (Mark) McShane of Lacona, NY, Michele (Anthony) Buczek of E. Bethany, NY and Liza (Russ) Peet of LeRoy, NY; brothers, Neal (Sharon) Dickes, Thomas (Sandy) Dickes & Terry (Peggy) Dickes all of Batavia; sister, Lynda Dickes of Chapel Hill, NC; sister-in-law, Frances Dickes of Elba; 7 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
