JAMES A. WILLIAMS SR. - Age 80, of Batavia, died peacefully Saturday August 30, 2014 at the Buffalo VA Medical Center. He was born February 2, 1934 in Batavia, a son of the late Francis and Ruth (Donahue) Williams, also preceded in death by siblings, Donald & John Williams, Patricia Epke, Jane Mason, Mary Luce and Ruth Kowalik.

   Jim was a veteran of the US Army where he served in Germany during WWII, he received a Citation from Queen Juliana of the Netherlands for his service to the people of Holland during the great Floods of 1953. He worked for many years for National School Bus in Rochester and was a "die hard" Yankees fan. He will be remembered by his Hull Park neighborhood for the flag pole erected and flowers planted after September 11 that still stands today.

   Surviving is his loving wife of 37 years, Kathryn (Yandow) Williams of Batavia; children, James A. (Cindy) Williams Jr. of FL, Debra (Gary) Barnes, Susan Wolter, Donald (Jennifer) Williams, Kim, Karen & Scott Williams all of Batavia and Robert Williams; brother, Larry Williams of Batavia; sisters-in-law, Theresa Williams of Attica and Florence Williams of Batavia; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews.

   There is no prior visitation and funeral services will be held privately by the family. Memorials in his memory are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

Leicester ~ Joseph R. Balsamo, age 45, of Perry Road, passed away at home unexpectedly on Sunday (August 31, 2014).

     He was born June 2, 1969 in Batavia, a son of Patricia Hungerford Balsamo and the late Giuseppi Balsamo.

     Joe will be remembered as a very caring and compassionate animal lover.  He was very artistically creative and used that talent for his love of gardening and landscaping.

     He is survived by his mother, Patricia Balsamo of LeRoy, his sister, Stina (Paul Marini) Balsamo of Rochester, his brother, Steve Balsamo of LeRoy, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was predeceased by his dad, Giuseppi.

     There are no prior calling hours and services will be at the convenience of the family.  Memorial contributions may be made to his family.

Mrs. Gertrude K. Beswick, 92, wife of the late Robert L. Beswick, who died in 2005, died Sunday (August 31, 2014) at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville.

She was born December 10, 1921 in Matheson, Ontario, a daughter of the late Ludwig and Ester Nordstrum Nyquist.

Mrs. Beswick enjoyed gardening and was an accomplished seamstress. Before her husband's passing they frequently traveled, often times with the men he served with in the US Army during WWII.  She was especially fond of her cat, Lily and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Batavia.

Survivors include three children, Stephen L. Beswick of Batavia, Pamela (Rodney) Herdegon of Batavia and Bruce (Doreen) Beswick of Rye, NY; six granddaughters,  Kelley Caffo, Jamie Beswick, Stacey Daprizio, Stephanie D'Alba, Kathryn Johnston and Allison Beswick; four great- grandchildren and nieces and nephews. 

She is the sister of the late Ester M. Scoins and M. Lillian Rice.

Calling hours are Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main St., Batavia.  Services will be Saturday at 11:00 am at St. James Episcopal Church, 405 East Main St., Batavia.  Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery, Batavia.

Oakfield - Mr. Augustine Robert Fenello, 76, of Oakfield, a self-employed hairdresser for over 40 years, passed away on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the New York State Veteran's Home.

Mr. Fenello was born October 13, 1937 in Batavia, a son of the late Benjamin, Sr. and Florence Picirillo Fenello.

A member of St. Padre Pio Parish - Oakfield worship site, Mr. Fenello was a member of the Buffalo Hairdresser Association and the Oakfield-Alabama American Legion. He served with the United States Navy from 1956-60 where he was an aviation mechanic for Patrol Squadron Eight.

As a jack of all trades, Mr. Fenello spent much of his spare time building, remodeling and fixing whatever was needed by any friends or family. He was a diehard Notre Dame Football and New York Yankees fan. However, his greatest passion was simply spending time with his family and friends.     

Mr. Fenello was the beloved husband of Shirley Rademacker Fenello whom he married June 16, 1962; loving father of Michael (Suzanne) Fenello of Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania and Michele (Brian) Telga of Chili; brother of  Nicholas (Sarah) Fenello of Batavia; brother-in-law of Dino Giordano of  Hilton, Gary (Mary Rose) Rademacker of Batavia, Wayne (Leslie) Rademacker of Oakfield, Sylvia Rademacker of Akron and Connie McClure of Batavia; cherished grandfather of Cody, Caitlin and Nicolette Fenello of Cranberry Township, PA and Zachary and Alexis Telga of Chili and  loving uncle of fifteen nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Benjamin Fenello, Jr.; sister, Ruth Giordano; and brother-in-laws Allan and Dean Rademacker

Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Burdett & Sanford Funeral Home, 11 Maple Avenue, Oakfield. His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Padre Pio Parish, St. Cecilia's Worship Site, 56 Maple Avenue, Oakfield.  Burial, with full military honors, will be held at St. Cecilia’s Cemetery. ANTOINETTE CIACCIO - Age 88, of Batavia, died peacefully Thursday evening August 28, 2014 at the Batavia Health Care Center. She was born April 20, 1926 in Batavia, a daughter of the late Matteo and Lena (Cicero) Recchio, also preceded in death by her husband, Rico Ciaccio and siblings, Frank, Michael and Ralph Recchio, Helen DiPiazza and Mary Rose Mogavero.

   Antoinette was a lifelong member of Ascension Parish where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister, she was employed for many years at the former Sylvania plant in Batavia.

   Surviving is her loving brother Matthew "Junior" Recchio of West Palm Beach, FL along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

   Family and friends may visit from 4-8 p.m. on Monday September 1, 2014 at the Michael S. Tomaszewski Funeral & Cremation Chapel, LLC 4120 West Main Street Road Batavia, New York 14020 where prayers will be recited 9:00 a.m. Tuesday September 2 followed by a 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary's Site). Entombment will be in the Monsignor Francis L. Schwartz Mausoleum at St. Joseph's Cemetery and memorials in her memory are suggested to a charity of the donor's choice.

LeRoy ~ Joseph Inguaggiato, age 67, of North Street, passed away unexpectedly at home Wednesday morning (August 27, 2014).

     He was born May 16, 1947 in Rochester, N.Y., a son of the late Joseph R. and Caroline DiBenedetto Inguaggiato.

    

Mr. Inguaggiato will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, who had a devotion to his family and his faith.  He was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Parish, where he served as an Eucharistic minister and participated in the choir.  He also was an avid gardener and had a passion for being a self-employed hairdresser, a business he operated out of his home for many years.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Lillian DiPasquale Inguaggiato; his children, Danielle (Thomas) Ozzello of Greece, Jerrod (Kelly Elward) Inguaggiato of Greece and Joele (John) Piazza of LeRoy; his sister, Angela (Carl) Gigliotta of Irondequoit; 7 grandchildren, along with several loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

     Family and friends are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Sept. 1 at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Peter's Church, 44 Lake St., LeRoy.

B. John Olivadoti, 91, of Stuart, FL. formally of Batavia, passed away Wednesday July 23, 2014 at Catholic Hospice in Ft. Lauderdale. He was born on April 11, 1923 in Gardenville, New York to the late Giovanni (John) & Santa (Repice) Olivadoti. Mr. Olivadoti is predeceased by his wife Harriet Ross Spendelow Olivadoti who passed away on May 30, 1994, siblings; Carmella Olivadoti Constable, Mary Olivadoti Bilotta, Katharine Olivadoti Bilotta, Victoria Repice DeVirgilio, Ray Olivadoti all of Buffalo.

John was a member of the United Sates Navy during WWII in the Pacific Corridor and survived being sunk on the USS Hornet. He was an insurance agent for Mutual of Omaha Companion of New York for 50 years and was an avid golfer. Mr. Olivadoti was a member of the Batavia First United Methodist Church and the Peace Presbyterian Church in Stuart, FL. He is survived by his son Richard Olivadoti of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and daughter Kim Olivadoti Martin of Hurst, TX along with many nieces and nephews.

There will be no prior calling hours. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 29 at 11:00AM at St. Joseph's Cemetery Mausoleum in Batavia.

Darien -- Barbara A. Meyer, 77, passed away Friday (August 22, 2014) at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born October 20, 1936, in Batavia, a daughter of the late John “Jack” and Gladys Rogers Balduf. She worked at Sylvania in Batavia and after retirement held many other jobs just because she liked to stay busy. Barbara’s talents as a seamstress were well known. She was the wife of the late Bradley R. Holmes and sister of the late Robert Balduf.

Surviving are her children; Doug Meyer, Dennis Meyer, Darrell Meyer, Debra Meyer and Dee (Garth) Tesch; 9 grandchildren, Eric, Kayla, Jason, Sarah, Ian, Jackie, Craig, Andy and Jon; sisters; Nancy Johnson, Karen (Richard) King and Joanne (Paul) Tenney; 2 step-sons, Brian (Nicole) Holmes and Bruce Holmes and 2 step-grandchildren. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Friends may call Monday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the C. B. Beach & Son Mortuary, Inc., 4 East Main Street, Corfu, where funeral services will follow at 8 p.m.

Patricia A. “Patty” Eaton, 64, of Batavia, died Monday (Aug. 25, 2014) at Crossroads House after a lengthy illness.

She was born in Warsaw, NY on April 18, 1950, a daughter of Helen Wargo Laird of Batavia and the late Vernon Laird.

Patricia was a receptionist at Miracle Ear Co. in Batavia and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Batavia.  She was an avid bowler and dancer.

Surviving besides her mother is her husband, David Eaton,  daughters; Tersa M. Kabel of Batavia and Kelly M. Kabel of Webster, NY.   A granddaughter, Isabella Rayne.   Sisters: Nancy Curtis of Batavia and Susan (Terry) Zilenski of Oakfield.  Brother Larry Laird (Ellen Willard) of Lancaster, NY.  Four step children, nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones also survive.

 She is the sister of the late Richard Laird and grandmother of the late Michael Jr.

Batavia - Mr. Richard H. Dillon, 89, of Batavia, a former foreman for Scalia’s Landscaping in Batavia, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at New York State Veteran's Home.

Mr. Dillon was born April 28, 1925 in Albion, a son of the late Henry Joseph and Harriett Jedrzejewski Dillon. A member of Sacred Heart Church and the VFW Post No. 1602 and proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Navy.

His wife, Mary Reilly Dillon passed away in 1993.

Survivors include his children, Richard D. Dillon, Linda (William F.) McBride and Lori Johnston, all of Batavia; his son-in-law, Kenneth Blank of Barre; seven grandchildren, Christine (Robert) Hill of Rochester, William C. (Joelle) McBride of Spangdahlem AFB, Germany, Aubrey (Kasie) Way of Rochester, Caitlyn Johnston of Buffalo, Stephen, Michael and Gregory Blank, all of Barre; four great-grandchildren Alexis and Aiden Hill of Rochester, Alex McBride of Germany and Liam Way of Rochester; his sister, Margaret Koneski of Medina and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was the father of the late Melanie Blank who died in 2000 and brother of the late Henry R., Gordon, Eleanor and Donald Dillon.

Batavia ~ Mary Ann Shuler, age 67, of Crystal Lane, passed away Thursday morning (August

21, 2014) at Crossroads House surrounded by her loving family.

     Mrs. Shuler was born December 18, 1946 in Batavia, a daughter of the late John and Shirley Neth Roth.

     She was a 1964 graduate of LeRoy Central School.  She enjoyed music, dancing, family activities, casino outings, shopping and reading.  She worked at CB Foods - Curtice Burns, Inc. in LeRoy for 28 years as the Transportation Manager.    

     She is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Shuler Sr., her children, Timothy (Debra Demarest) Beaumont of LeRoy and Tamera Beaumont of LeRoy; her step-children, Jerald Shuler Jr. of Batavia, Toni (Eric) Richenberg of Byron, Scott (Tara Perry) Shuler of Batavia and Mark (Cheryl) Shuler of Bergen; granddaughters, Jennifer (Keith) Kreitzbender, Christina (Kagney) King, Stephanie (Josh Kirsop) Merica, Kathryn Beaumont and Samantha (James Robinson) Merica; great-grandsons, Ethan Kreitzbender and Eonjay Robinson; several step-grandchildren;  her sister, Donna (Allan) Loughborough of Albion, along with one niece and one nephew.

Robert W. Dwight, 96 of North Java, passed away Thursday August 21, 2014 at Wyoming County Skilled Nursing Facility in Warsaw. He was born April 22, 1918 in Brooklyn to the late Lester (Fannie) Dwight. He is preceded in death by a sister Ruth Ritter. Bob loved his cat Boots.

LeRoy ~ Maureen C. Miggins, age 88, of Munson Street, passed away Wednesday afternoon (August 20, 2014) at the LeRoy Village Green Nursing Home.

     Mrs. Miggins was born June 24, 1926 in LeRoy, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Carolan Blood.

     She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who was a practical joker, especially around the holidays.  She also thoroughly enjoyed shopping and gardening.  She was a retired sales clerk, having worked at both the Bette Shoppe and Economy Store.

     She is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Francis E. Miggins, her son, Michael (Kay) Miggins of LeRoy and her daughter, Phyllis (Gerald) Ashley of LeRoy, grandchildren, Carrie (Mark) Baubie, Brian (Heather) Ashley, Robert (Lori) Miggins and Patrick (Raelle) Ashley; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Brody Baubie, Devin Sherman, Cole Ashley, Taylor, Morgan and Dylan Miggins and Jackson Ashley; sister-in-law, Barb Brown, along with several nieces and nephews.

     She was predeceased by her siblings, Rosemary (Larry) Scheffreen, Betty (Victor) Stella and Richard Blood.
